This is a bad time for Wardle to be accused of this, but his behavior towards Cougill falls well short of inappropriate, in my opinion. I know the things he was alleged to do against Bross have not been made public, but nothing that Cougill's mother is accusing him of sounds like it crossed the line. And I don't think he said the player's mental illness was a distraction. Looks like he said the fact that Cougill didn't take his meds an had a breakdown was the distraction.
Sounds like his mother was REALLY involved in his career, and not in a positive way if she was posting criticisms of the team's play on the team facebook page.

Yes, that will help Wardle's case. With the allegations ni the first complaint not being revealed it's hard to have opinion on this care. The second complaint, which was brought by Cougill's mother, didn't allege any behavior that appeared to cross the line.
On another note, I long for the days of college and pro basketball in the 80s when a guy like Alec Brown wasn't considered a potential first round pick. Based on what I see he is not NBA ready, but then again, the NBA is full of guys who aren't NBA ready now. Remember when a college player had to be dominating the college game before he was considered an early entry candidate?

That seems like the right decision on his part. A strong senior season could put him back in the mix for a first round pick. Mitch McGary of Michigan parlayed five good games in the tournament into projected lottery status.
Interesting bit at the end about the HL working out it's conference schedule.

Green Bay had previously received a verbal commitment from Jerelle DeBerry, a shooting guard with a three star rating from both Rivals and ESPN. It was a big coup for them, but DeBerry recently decommitted from GB and has opened back up his recruiting. He's getting some high major interest.
Just goes to show that until you get LOI or financial aid forms signed, you can't really be sure that the player is on board.

Green Bay took a hit this week when Alfonse McKinnie, expected to log significant minutes at forward, suffered a knee injury. He had surgery. They are saying he could be back before Horizon League play begins, but I'm always skeptical when it's the knee.

Forward Dan Turner, who led the Phoenix in rebounding in 2011 as a freshman, announced that he will leave school after graduating in December. Since his superb freshman year, Turner has been plagued by two torn ACLs and various other injuries. He missed all games in the Phoenix's Caribbean trip this summer, and it was increasingly doubtful he would be able to play before the new year. Turner plans to transfer to Division II Florida Southern to pursue a master's degree. There, health permitting, he will be able to play with his younger brother Stephen, a freshman with the Mocs. Turner didn't figure to play a major role for Green Bay but his announcement confirms the growing suspicion that the Phoenix would not have him back.
In some ways, Turner epitomizes the best of college athletic scholarships. A talented athlete, by all accounts a fine young man and a hard worker, he graduates in 3 and a half years. He gave his all to UWGB, and when he could play, he was a very good player. The team never attempted to cut his scholarship or suggest he move on, even as the likelihood of his ever returning to form dwindled. It is probably fair to say that he is the most respected player currently in the GB program. No longer the player he was before the injuries, he'll now have his master's financed thanks to college athletics, while getting the chance to play ball with his brother at a lower level of competition.

Kiefer Sykes picked up an honorable mention recognition from the AP for its All-American team today. He's the first Phoenix to be so honored since Jeff Nordgaard in 1996.
