Green Bay never quit. Milwaukee went by them twice but couldn’t pull away. Best game of the year by far. Wade from Ann Arbor had a nice game. Maybe they need to take a real hard look at the interm Coach he got a lot out of not very much. I thought the Milwaukee coach had some very questionable pairings on the court and underestimated his opponent. Kept GB in long enough for them to start believing in themselves. Green Bay won the game and the Milwaukee coach lost it. Really handled his substitutions in the pivot poorly. I was thinking he was a pretty decent coach until I watched this game.

Near the end of regulation, Milwaukee had a foul to give but instead opted to give GB essentially a full ten seconds to get a good look from beyond the arc, and the Phoenix buried the shot.

Maybe they need to take a real hard look at the interm Coach he got a lot out of not very much. I wouldn't get too excited just yet. His first three games were losses ranging from 15 to 31 points, including one to IUPUI.

Junior guard Garren Davis is in the portal. Looking for school number three after two years at Loyola-MD and a year at Green Bay. Averaged 6 points per game for the Phoenix, with some less than stellar shooting numbers.

Things look really grim in Green Bay, at least in the near term. Hard to judge transfers anymore, but the last two additions shown here are coming up from D-2. Their best players, including Cade Meyer--really their whole roster--are in the transfer portal.
But the bright side, I suppose, is that the portal gives everyone hope--if you can hit it with success, turnarounds can come much more quickly than in the past.

Foster Wonders commits to Green Bay. I could see him doing well there.

Foster Wonders commits to Green Bay. I could see him doing well there. Nice and close to home only 90 miles. Green Bay is the nearest D1 program so this is like coming home.

Elijah Jones, from John A. Logan JUCO, verbally committed to Green Bay. He's listed as a 6-7 guard. Averages 8 points and 7 boards. Doesn't shoot much, but hits a high percentage from the floor, 61% overall, 53% from three. Second member of national JUCO champ John A. Logan to join the HL recently. www.loganvols.com/sports/mbkb/2022-23/bios/jones_elijah_xc2x

Green Bay beat out some other programs for this one: Wyoming transfer guard Noah Reynolds. Reynolds averaged 14 ppg for the Cowboys, playing in 19 games. He sat out some games due to concussion protocol. He originally committed to Wisconsin out of the portal, but de-committed shortly after. If you are wondering how Green Bay managed to land a 14 ppg scorer from the Mountain West conference, be aware that his brother was recently hired as an assistant coach with the Phoenix. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4897551/noah-reynolds

Green Bay gets a commitment from a big kid, Jacob Antchak. He's 6-8, 250, and surprisingly athletic, based on video I've seen of him. He's native of Abbotsford, Canada who has split his high school years between Canada and Utah. Also had an offer from Montana State, per Verbal Commits. Still developing his overall game, but worth a shot just for that frame alone.
