Whaddya think? Does Tugs enter the draft in June? I would be surprised if he does. I don't think he will be ready, even in today's low draft standards and watered down league. He can play, but I didn't see him being projected as a one and done player. He's not like the kid who skipped out of Western Kentucky.

Reports state that the NCAA has ruled Bowen ineligible for next season. He has decided to remain in the NBA draft. He's a huge question mark, as he hasn't played a serious basketball game in a LONG time.

He's a huge question mark, as he hasn't played a serious basketball game in a LONG time. Bowen stayed in the draft but went undrafted. His career has taken some interesting turns since I saw him play as a high school freshman who already had high major offers.

Testimony in court today, per Jeff Borzello on Twitter:
Brian Bowen Sr. told the jury today that Christian Dawkins conveyed the following offers for Brian Bowen Jr. to commit: • Arizona: $50,000 • Oklahoma State: $150,000, $8000 for a car, money for a house • Texas: “help me with housing” • Creighton: $100,000 and a “good job”
Check out Creighton finding a use for that Big East money!!

Times have changed, when I was in high school the going rate for a blue chipper was the following: $20,000 upon signing $20,000 upon enrollment $500.00/month spending money A new vehicle (Mustgang, Explorer or Honda Accord) During that era (late 80's early 90'), many of the parents of the blue chip recruits had good jobs with the big 3, so they didn't ask for employment.

Bowen is testifying against everyone. Says La Lumiere paid him $2000/month for Brian Jr. to attend; says got $25,000 to play AAU with Michigan Mustangs, $8000 to play with Mean Streets.
Reminder--at this point, this is just Bowen's testimony. Also, much is, at this point, second hand. That is, Bowen has testified that Dawkins told him of the offers from the colleges--it'll be interesting to see what Dawkins says. Still, it's pretty damning at this point. If Dawkins in fact passed these offers on to Bowen, well, it's hard to see why he would have made those offers up.

I guess we now know why Preston Murphy of Creighton never got beyond the initial rumor stage here at U-D after Bacari's firing.
It is clear that a toxic relationship between certain people at the shoe companies and certain agents existed. Still exists? Hope not.

I missed this, but last week Munish Sood, a financial advisor, testified in the trial that one guy he gave money to (or more precisely, gave money to people "connected with") while in college is former University of Utah star (now NBA) Kyle Kuzma, a Michigan product who left for an-of-state prep school. He had been recruited by Ray McCallum.
