I think the decision was made to develop Anton into a wing. He is about 6'6" with good span. We are only 2 players away from being a good team

not to nitpick up. but i think we're already a good team...i think we're a player or two away from being a great team..especially if ray sr. hires on an x's and o's guy!

I have always loved Jason, but I have a feeling. They put him in the Titan Court Report with Doug and Nick. He said he hasn't made his decision yet, which is never good when he has a year of eligibility left. If he graduates soon I think he might rather play for money somewhere than having to go to classes for another year. Like I said, just a feeling.
Back to recruiting, I recall PW saying he always got the best guys he could get, regardless of position. If we can get a good guard and all of our guards are coming back, so be it.
Signing day is just around the corner so hopefully get some news then. Would be nice to have a big surprise.

We were not a good team this year because of rebounding and didn't have a big who knew how to play D. Someone has to win the ball so we can dribble it around for a while and run our shot clock down.

UP, you beat me to it. The 2012-13 titans were a rebounder away from being a solid NCAA tournament team. If a Coville,Mazur or one of the Alexanders (Bacari or Brian) are on this team UDM would've at least been in the round of 32. Coach Ray must address this issue. If we go into next season with Evan and NJ as are starting 4, & 5 we will be in serious trouble.

don't disagree up. i call that x's and o's...the person who wins the rebounding battle is not always the tallest, or the person who can jump the highest. it takes positioning determination and strength and the will to battle under the boards. it can be taught. i think evan could be a great rebounder with a little bit of solid coaching.

We have offered Ayinde Sprewell, a 6'3" shooting guard (and nephew of former NBA player Latrell). He is currently a freshman at Three Rivers College and averaged 11.6 ppg (and is the teammate of Ibrahim Djambo). Sprewell appears (but I'm not really sure since this whole situation is tough to follow) to have been a member of the class of 2012 and committed to (& later decommited from) Florida International. He's now listed in the class of 2013 at Three Rivers. Offering another guard at this late time may give us some indication of a guard leaving the program, or the coaches may have just seen and liked Sprewell while recruiting Ojambo, or it may mean absolutely nothing at all. theeastsideperspective.com/ayinde-sprewell-is-determined/dar.rustcom.net/story/1862755.htmlWould seem to be a similar player to Bonam. Another article: southernmississippi.scout.com/2/1279907.htmlCommish - The article you linked dated 4/1/13 states that Sprewell has another year at Three Rivers: and the article I linked dated 3/12/13 states that Sprewell is in the class of 2013: So at this point, I'm confused as to whether Sprewell is even a possibility for next season.

Probably not appropriate for the 2013 recruiting thread - although I believe we may have discussed it in the 2012 recruiting thread (& I guess you never know what can happen) - but Trey Zeigler just announced he is transferring out of Pittsburgh. Really just a sad story - going to be his 3rd school in 3 years (if he's even eligible to play next season - I doubt the NCAA gives him a waiver 2 years in a row)and remember the DUI back in November - just a bunch of questionable decisions. I remember a time when he and Ray were mentioned in the same sentence, not only for the playing for your father in college at a mid major school connection, but as far as playing ability and ranking coming out of high school.

That is a sad story. I know he really struggled at Pitt this year and they had guys returning at his position. When I saw him play live at DePaul this year he looked kind of overwhelmed on the court. I think he would have been a good player in Detroit, and I had hoped he would come here when he left CMU. Good luck to him, wherever he goes.

Commish - The article you linked dated 4/1/13 states that Sprewell has another year at Three Rivers: and the article I linked dated 3/12/13 states that Sprewell is in the class of 2013: So at this point, I'm confused as to whether Sprewell is even a possibility for next season. Sprewell was originally class of 2012, and verbally committed to Morehead State. Then he decommitted and planned on a prep year. At some point he must have changed his mind again because in June he verbally committed to FIU. That same week, there are also stories that he committed to Three Rivers. So did he decide to play at JC for a year rather than prep - thus committing to both schools, 3 Rivers for 2012-13 and FIU for the following year? That's a bit odd - the 2012 scouting reports indicate he needed to work on his shooting, and I suppose he might have thought JC was a better place to do it, but it is odd to use a year of college eligibility that way, if he was an academic qualifier - which he'd have to be or he couldn't go to a 4 year until he got his 2 yr degree. And everybody now lists him as class of '13. But maybe he's class of '14 and this is an offer for 2014. Well, obviously I don't know anything and am just rambling.

It is too bad. Pitt was a terrible move for him. I think he would have done much better at UD last year and been a key addition to our team. I think he wanted to play at a higher level, hoping for the NBA, and probably wanted to keep playing for his dad, which is nice. But it seems like from the start, Pitt was a terrible fit in every way - style of play, returning personnel and incoming freshmen, expectations.
