That's what Antoine Davis needs to do....play more efficiently. His FG%, 3pt% and Assist/turnover ratio are all subpar. More importantly, Larrytitan will attend both Youngstown and Cleveland games this week. I want to meet you and others. I will sit in SW corner of the Hall..wearing a Brown U ball cap...also be grabbing a beer in Titan Club.. Look for me, please.

I checked the stats. Bates scored 41 points, had 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. It didn't seem like he scored that much while I was watching it live, because most of it came in the flow of the game. Hit some threes, had about four dunks, threw some great passes. Still super skinny, and the competition wasn't great, but the kid is a player.

Bates is supposed to make his announcement this afternoon. I'll just go ahead and say Michigan State and let someone correct this if I'm wrong

WOW, good for Sparty! It'd be nice to see him play 1 year of college ball. Did he have a Blue Titan hat in front of him that he almost grabbed but instead grabbed the MSU one instead?

The other, perhaps more intriguing, news was that his dad will start his own Prep Academy for Emoni to attend right in Ypsilanti. They will be a national schedule against other prep schools, and are already recruiting other kids to go to the 'school'. Nike is said to be the sponsor. None of that feels especially savory with a traditionalist lens on, but then again things have really changed with athletics and kids taking control of their own image/earning power, etc.

I thought he would leave the state for one of those high profile prep schools. I'm surprised to read that he will go to a prep school that his Dad is starting. I don't remember his Dad having that kind of background. And he's already talking about reclassifying. At any rate, it's probably 50/50 that the kid goes to college. Not sure if they will get rid of the one and done rule by the time he graduates, but the G League path that was taken by a couple of five star recruits this year will be open to him. I imagine that Tom Izzo will continue to recruit as if Bates won't be arriving on campus in 2022.

Is this so called Academy even accredited?

I think Bates had better turn pro because if he goes to State Izzo is not going to allow him on the floor the way he plays defense. I'm not sure his ego can handle Izzo's coaching and it would be interesting to see how his dad handles it.
