Could be an interesting season in the Ivy League this year, and Harvard comes up in conversation on the board sometimes. Feels like a thread on the Ivies might not be a bad idea. As the Commissioner has stated in the past, if some of these schools put a focus on athletics, they have the resources to compete with anyone. The preseason poll has the Ivy finishing this way. Harvard has won six of the last eight conference championships and Coach Amaker returns a lot of talent and gets some guys back from injury this season. 1. Harvard 2. Penn 3. Yale 4. Princeton 5. Brown 6. Cornell 7. Columbia 8. Dartmouth www.gocrimson.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/releases/20181016e6dknt

The Ivies have gotten some nice wins to start the season. Penn beat George Mason, Yale beat California, and Harvard beat Boston College. Harvard also has a loss to Northeastern. Tommy Amaker's crew is still shorthanded, playing without Seth Towns and Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken, both out with injuries.
Could be a good year for the Ivy League.

Good news for the Harvard Crimson as Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken made his season debut in today's win over Howard. Aiken, who has missed most of the past two seasons with injuries, scored 16 points and had five assists. The Crimson are still without Seth Towns, who has also been out the entire season with an injury. Ivy observers say that Towns and Aiken are the two best players in the conference. Coach Amaker misses them. Harvard is currently 7-7. 0-1. Princeton leads the league at 9-5, 2-0.

Tommy Amaker achieved a milestone today with his 400th career coaching victory. The Crimson won at Penn, 75-68 in overtime. Harvard is 7-1 since getting Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken back (yes, I intend to use that nickname every time I mention him)but they are still without Seth Towns, who is their first or second best player. Towns has been out all season with injury.
Yale is on top of the Ivy at 7-1. Harvard is 6-2. Princeton and Cornell are 5-3.

Yale beat Harvard today in the Ivy League tournament final. Harvard was actually the number one seed in the tournament but had to play today's game on Yale's home court, due to the way the Ivy league schedules the tournament.
Harvard finishes 18-11, 10-4. Would have been nice to see what kind of team they would have had with if Seth Towns hadn't missed the entire year with injury and Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken not been limited to 15 games.
Yale opens up NCAA tourney play against LSU. Harvard takes on Georgetown in the NIT.

Harvard picked up a big commit for 2020 as New Jersey native Josh Hemmings committed to the Crimson. Hemmings is ranked as a three star recruit by 24/7.

Harvard got some good news as guard Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return to the Crimson for his senior year. Next season will probably be Amaker's most talented team; hopefully, they can stay healthy. I'm not sure if Seth Towns is ever coming back from his injury.
Per Jon Rothstein:
"Many believe that next season will feature the most talented team Tommy Amaker has had during his tenure at Harvard. The buzz is officially palpable in Cambridge. Early prediction on Harvard's 19-20 starting five: Bryce Aiken, Noah Kirkwood, Justin Bassey, Seth Towns, Chris Lewis. This doesn't include Robert Baker, Henry Welsh, Danilo Djuricic, Spencer Freedman, Christian Juzang, and Four-Star prospect Chris Ledlum."

Harvard made news with the verbal commitment of 6-9 Justice Ajogbor in the class of 2020. Justice is a Nigerian native who is currently living in North Carolina. He had offers from Maryland, Auburn, and Mississippi State, among others. 247sports.com/player/justice-ajogbor-46048940/Also, Dartmouth received a verbal commitment from 2020 recruit Robert McCrae III. McCrae, originally in the class of 2019, was rated a three star recruit by both Rivals and ESPN at one point.

Bad news for Harvard as forward Seth Towns will not be available for the season opener and his status is still undetermined for the coming season. Towns averaged 16 points per game in 2017-18, but missed last season with that knee injury.

The injury bug is not leaving Harvard alone. Seth Towns is still out heading into tonight's game, as is Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken, who also missed the season opener against MIT. It looks like we're never going to see that highly ranked Harvard class of 2016 reach its full potential.

Yale over Clemson today. Nice win for the Ivy League.
Harvard over Howard. Still no Seth Towns. Also, Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken didn't play, after only playing 16 minutes in the previous game, a win over George Washington. He's been struggling with injuries this season.

Good showing last night by both Yale and Harvard. Yale went to Chapel Hill and battled North Carolina, losing by a score of 70-67. Carolina is still injury riddled, but that's still and admirable effort by Yale.
Out on the West Coast, Harvard went to San Francisco and beat the Dons 84-81 in overtime. Harvard was without Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken (and Seth Towns, of course) but senior Chris Lewis is really stepping up in their absence. He's averaging 17.5 ppg in the last four games.
Yale and Harvard appear to be the class of the Ivy so far. Both are 10-4. I think Harvard is the clear favorite when healthy, but I don't think they are ever going to be fully healthy this season. Tough for them, because they are probably going to end up playing two full seasons without Towns, who is probably their best player.

Bad news for Harvard as forward Seth Towns will not be available for the season opener and his status is still undetermined for the coming season. Towns averaged 16 points per game in 2017-18, but missed last season with that knee injury. Interesting bit of news out of the Ivy League. Harvard's Seth Towns has entered the transfer portal. He was Ivy League player of the year in 2017-18, but hasn't played in almost two years.
