Maybe we can't come up with the 7'+ grad transfer because he's right in front of us. Crazy speculation that I'm not necessarily endorsing: what if it's Malik Eichler? He was rumored to be a good student. What if he completed requirements for his degree in three years (this past year he was at Madonna) and was now eligible to return as a grad transfer? That would explain why he's not in verbal commits database or even on our radar. Again just a crazy thought that popped into my head while I'm waiting for a press release... I'm glad he did well and wish him the best. do we really need a 7 footer that averaged 5.4 in the Wolverine Hoosier conference?

Not endorsing it or even saying it's likely. I'm using as a way to pass time and tweak the coaching staff until I figure out who the grad transfer big man is, or prove the whole thing was made up by them. On a related note, at least 10 foreign big men have signed with D1 school's in the past week. I have a feeling we'll be finding out who our freshman foreign big man is soon.

Random speculation based on miscellaneous social media activity... Brian Carey, Guard, Oklahoma Christian -- entered the transfer portal, 1 year left, started his career at Texas Southern under Coach Davis; Averaged 25 mins and 8.3 pts per game Demarcus Morris, wing, Barton Community College - seems to be eyeing a move to a D1 school, from Houston and perhaps knows Davis family from there; 10 mins a game in his first year at CC level Jordan Gilliam, UC Riverside and transferring - another Houston connection, started a bunch of games to start the season before perhaps an injury caused playing time to fall off; average 19 mins, 7 pts and 3 boards per game But really, who the heck knows, just casting a net out there among players that seem to know the Davis family from the Texas days. Brian Carey committed to OUAZ - Ottawa University Arizona

Two interesting transfers from the Chicago area today 6'6 G/W Sam Shafer from SIU. He will have 4 years to play and should be able to play immediately ( waiver status is pending). Shooter with size and is a solid athlete as well, and Iowa redshirt junior guard Isaiah Moss, who would be a graduate transfer. Immediately eligible. EDIT:Nevermind on Moss - there was actually real consideration given to him entering the NBA draft (which he did not), so he's not going to the Horizon League Moss committed to Arkansas, then changed his mind and re-opened his recruitment. Today he committed (for the moment) to Kansas, giving them something they really needed; more outside shooting.

This young man is a redshirt freshman at Boise State and has entered the transfer portal, reportedly via a "mutual decision" with the coaching staff. He was a three star recruit in high school in Utah, and checks in at 6-10, 250 plus. I think we have a scholarship available for a midseason pick up... broncosports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6415

Talk on the Board has been scarce lately, so I figured it was time for some idle speculation. I saw that Kaosi Ezeagu, a redshirt Sophomore from nearby Brampton, Ontario is leaving UTEP. He's 6'10", 245#. Last season he averaged 12.4 min per game with 3.2ppg, 3.4rpg and a team high 24 blocks. Sounds like he's got the size we need and could protect the rim when we have a defensive breakdown, plus he'd be close to home (& most importantly, we have scholarships available right now). Here's what was written about him this preseason:

What the coaching staff did for Blackshear in one year. I would like to see that with these twins

Coach Davis had success with another former Terrapin, Travon Reed, when he was at Texas Southern. Reed blossomed at TSU.

DePaul guard Devin Gage is leaving the program as a grad transfer. I would like to see U of D pursue Gage. He's an experienced point guard who had some success the Big East, especially in 2019-19, the last season he was healthy. He's a Chicago guy, so Coach Dildy is familiar with him. I think he probably would start at point guard next year if he is healthy, and would be a good influence on your younger players, including the guards joining the team next year. Keep an eye out. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4065774/devin-gage

I wonder if BJ Maxwell will be returning for his 6th season? He didn't participate in Senior day activities, although that doesn't mean much.
