I don’t really recall many UDJ recruits for the Titans over the past 50 years other than Jenkins. Did Michael Jackson go to UDJ? He’s currently an Athletic Director for a high school in Rhode Island.

When was the last time a UofD High player came to Detroit Mercy? I believe when Chris Jenkins transferred to Detroit from Colorado. I don't want to assume, so I will ask. Why do you ask? Is there a point you are making? I asked because I didn't know the last time a UD Jesuit player came to Detroit Mercy.

His dad, Lindsey Hunter, is at today’s game.

His dad, Lindsey Hunter, is at today’s game. Lindsey took on one of the toughest assignments in college basketball at Mississippi Valley State, but even recognizing that, he failed miserably--the Devils were 7-75 during his three seasons, with an average margin of defeat well in excess of 20 points. Despite that, I think he'd be a decent assistant coach for the Titans should the occasion ever arise. (And no, I'm definitely not suggesting that we hire him to lock up Caleb). At a minimum, I still have fond memories of his two stints with the Pistons, and he always seemed like a smart player.

No, he came off the bench and got overall pretty spot minutes. He was only there for his senior year, and UDJ was loaded that year. I saw that team play several times that season. That was the UDJ team that made it to the state finals and lost to Emoni Bates and Ypsi Lincoln (somewhere MCSam pumps his fist at the memory). That UDJ team had at least guys go on to get D1 scholarships (Butler, Fordham and Brown among the schools). You could tell Caleb was a smart player and surely learned alot from his dad over the years. He just didn't have that extra level of talent, nor shooting, to get more minutes and to lead that team. Lindsay was in the stands for many games, and he would holler down at Caleb when he was on the court - not in an overbearing way, but at the same time I'm sure there was some pressure there on the kid.

Why not have Caleb come to UDM, he is a UDJ graduate, and has D1 experience (true very low D1). He may not be AD but could certainly be a "piece" of an always rebuilding team.

That UDJ team had Danny Friday, who was an All-State "Dream Team" selection (went to Brown; lost one season to injury; was starter last year, sometime starter this year), Julian Dozier (another "Dream Team" selection, spent a year at a prep school; played a handful of games for Fordham in 2021--I assume academics kept him from continuing); Jalen Thomas (All State Honorable Mention, starting now at Butler after starting two years at Georgia State); and Jordan Montgomery (all-state honorable mention). Caleb was third team all-state as a sophomore and first team All State as a junior at Southfield Christian, but that was Class D.

For Class C/D, that team was loaded with both Bryce and Brock Washington as well as Harlond Beverly. Jason Whitens and tiny North Central barely beat them for the state championship. 😁

Sorta like Wonders who we had no interest in and is in the rotation at Southern Illinois in the Valley as a Frosh. This offer to Hunter stinks of a pat my back I’ll pat yours deal. Guy 4 opt. On a D team and non starter on an A team, 30% shooter on one of the worst teams in D1 is offered a Titan scholarship so he can come in and possibly be our 5th or 6th option at guard because he shouldn’t be taking time from Kyle, Stone, Johnson or Tankersley.
