You can play only so many 6-foot-4 combo guards. And eventually some of them hit the portal....
We need some height.

U-D has reached out to St. John's transfer AJ Storrs, along with a about twenty other schools, including a bunch of high majors. He's not coming to Six Mile and Livernois, but I figured I would post this just to show some of the staff's activity.

Final ESPN 100 Class of 2023 rankings were published a couple of weeks ago. Some notes: Curtis Williams from Brother Rice, ranked #73, is the only Michigan kid on the list. He's committed to Louisville. Kentucky has signed five players from the top 100, including 3 of the top six. Michigan State has 3 of the top 100. North Carolina has 2. Ohio State has 3, which UD Baller will be happy about. Michigan only has one. Kirky will be happy to see that Duke has four of the top 100 signed. In the age of the transfer portal, high school recruiting doesn't have the same sizzle that it used to. www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings/_/view/espnu100

The Titans have added two commitments in the past three days, Jay Allen-Tovar and Oton Jankovic. Nice to see U-D adding size and experience.

Now we need a leader to get them in together and get them started. I am hoping for a couple outside shooters to open things up.

Still lots of room. I have us at 9 scholarship players, 10 if Moss returns, which I suspect is unlikely. Those nine include Sonny Johnson. Anybody hearing anything about Sonny? Is he going to be able to play again, or is his career over after all these injuries?
Guards: Kyle LeGreair, Jadan Coleman, Mak Manciel, Marcus Tankersley, Sonny Johnson, Ryan Hurst Forwards/Centers: Jay Allen-Tovar, Otan Jankovic, Alex Tchikou
Among walk-ons, one shouldn't rule out Jamail Pink, who played a lot late last season. He may end up on scholarship. Tobin Schwannecke is also eligible to return.

Malik Olafioye, pg from Ecorse HS was offered It took awhile, but Malik is off the board. He verbally committed to Kansas City today. At one point there were several high major offers reported for Malik, including Arizona Arizona State, Mississippi State, Houston, and Georgetown. I expect he will do well at Kansas City.

I am not targeting the young man who just committed to Kansas City just his 110% committed statement made me think about the young people of today and for the most part their total abuse of the word committed. With college basketball having the transfer portal it is starting to look like a majority of the 100% and 100%+ statements are that they really are committed more to themselves than to the program they are signing with. They are excited at the time of their decision but they seem to have really short memories.
