Currently in, with record and NET rank: East Tennessee State 30-4, #36 Utah State 26-8, #40 Liberty 30-4, #66 Yale 23-7, #70 Belmont 26-7, #101 Bradley 23-11, #102 Winthrop 24-10, #146
5 bids will go out tonight. If all goes right (wrong?) Teams that could qualify tonight by winning their conference tournaments, with their record if they win and current NET rank, include: Northeastern (18-15, #127) Robert Morris (20-14, #215) UIC (19-16, #218) North Dakota (16-17, #242)

Hofstra, again this year's #1 seed in the Colonial, hasn't been to the tourney in 19 years, and were upset by Northeastern in last year's Colonial Championship. Hofstra coach Joe Mihalich is a friend of mine from years ago, and is truly one of the nicest guys in all of college basketball

He recently passed 400 career wins. In his first seven seasons at Niagara, he won exactly 60 percent of his games and he got to the NCAAs in year 7. He's in year 7 at Hofstra and has won exactly 60 percent. All this after spending 17 seasons as an assistant at LaSalle. Prior to that he taught at DeMatha HS and coached under Morgan Wootten. And on that note, I'll stop hijacking this thread

NCAA says no fans at NIT and NCAA tournament games. Going to be a surreal viewing experience.

The NBA has suspended its season after a Utah Jazz player, believed to be Rudy Gobert, tested positive for COVID-19.

I wonder (jokingly), if there's no NCAA Tournament, do we have to serve our ban next season?

I wonder if they try to have an NCAA tourney after schools have finals in May? May madness?
I don’t see how the NCAA can keep playing considering the NBA suspension. Yeah, one NBA player tested positive. But if even one NBA player has it you can bet your left nut that one player on the 350 some D1 teams has it. Dudes that live in dorm rooms on massive college campuses. If grown ass men who get paid millions of dollars can’t play then kids who don’t get paid can’t continue playing. Period.
We picked the right year to have a postseason ban, that’s for sure.

And March Madness is cancelled.
I have to say, quarantining will be a lot less pleasant without basketball to watch.

I've already read where coaches (mainly mid major guys) who are saying they will fight for a one time 5th year of eligibility for their seniors who lost out on playing in the tournament

Bummer for fans and teams. I especially feel for: San Diego State -- they're best team ever, a legit Final 4 possibility. It could be a long time before SD State has another such team. (Although perhaps it is not hopeless. They lose two senior starters and one deep bench player, so there's a lot back). Dayton -- basically the same, except maybe only their best team in over 50 years, and they're perhaps a little more likely to repeat this standard of excellence in the next decade. They also lose two senior starters, but if Obi Toppin declares early that will be a huge blow. Liberty -- 30-4, baby. They're 59-11 the last 2 years, and were likely looking at an 11-12 seed line--a great place for a Sweet 16 run. 4 of their top 5 scorers are seniors. Hofstra -- their first bid in 20 years. Three starters, including their top two scorers, are seniors. Rutgers -- Would likely have their first bid in 30 years. But they've got most of the key pieces coming back. Stephen F. Austin -- assuming they would have won the Southland tournament, they'd have taken a 31-3 record into the tournament, with a road win at Duke. Three of their first 6 are seniors.
