I've already read where coaches (mainly mid major guys) who are saying they will fight for a one time 5th year of eligibility for their seniors who lost out on playing in the tournament I don't see that happening.

I agree. Why should Miller, for example, get an extra year? Most players careers are over or were basically over. However, Seniors playing spring sports, which basically just started, have a better argument in my opinion, and that's where I'd consider an exception

It makes more sense for spring sports, where they had little or no season. I would think of it a bit like an injury redshirt--if you played a third of your season, well, that's a year of eligibility used.

Had they done this, according to Lunardi you would have had: 1. Kansas 1. Gonzaga 1. Dayton 1. Baylor 2. Kentucky 2. San Diego State 2. Florida State 2. Creighton 3. Duke 3. Seton Hall 3. Villanova 3. Michigan State 4. Wisconsin 4. Oregon 4. Maryland 4. Louisville First 4 out: Auburn Michigan Butler Ohio State Next 4 out Iowa BYU Penn State Virginia If it were that 16 team field,by conference you'd have: Big 10: 3 Big East: 3 ACC: 3 Big 12: 2 SEC: 1 PAC 12: 1 WCC: 1 Mountain West: 1 Atlantic 10: 1 Woulda been a good tournament, with the 9 best conference each getting their champ in (well, 9 of best 10--no American Athletic champ).

A happy Titan Golfer is quoted in this article. A sign that we have Titans who love and appreciate the opportunity they have been given. I hope more of them make the same decision he is making:

Being that golf was entered into the conversation, it's a shame how our program has fallen off. Was it Vowels that fired Mark Engel? Yes or no, that was a dumb f*****g move.
I've had my issues in the past with Coach Engel... but he had the key to running a top program at UDM despite limited resources. The fact he was let go was a joke. Then, he was immediately picked up at OU so they could jam their thumb in our eye in that sport as well.

Vowels probably fired the golf coach because the scores were too low. That guy just never gets it right.

I hadn't thought about that, but I guess it makes sense. :-)

Could have happened. The Spartans appeared to be hitting their stride as the regular season ended.

Could have happened. The Spartans appeared to be hitting their stride as the regular season ended. The question is, will they raise a banner?
