Sonny has yet to tap into his potential. He's the next Ja Morant. 😁

Hope he recovers soon. Probably out until January would be my guess.

Wow. If there's a silver lining for both Sonny and the Titans, it doesn't sound like the kind of injury that will long term harm his skills. Hope that's right. Get well Sonny.

I got knocked like that before, falling and catching a knee in the temple. It is no joke. Nowadays I would sit for two weeks for concussion protocol, but back in the 80s I went back in the game later. Crazy times.
Get well soon, Sonny.

One thing to keep an eye on is the group of ranked class of 2022 guards coming into the state's mid major college basketball scene in the Fall. Of course our Titans bring in Sonny Johnson, a three star recruit per 24/7. Johnson was formerly committed to Penn State, but has been impacted by injuries his last two years of high school ball. He's under the radar for most, but the potential certainly seems there. CMU is bringing in Reggie Bass out of Tennessee. Bass is another 3 star recruit per 24/7, and ranked higher than Johnson overall. He was previously committed to Illinois, and had early offers from the Big East, the PAC 12, the SEC, and the Big 12. WMU landed a good one in Seth Hubbard from Huntington Prep. Hubbard is a 3 star recruit per Rivals who had offers from AAC and Conference USA programs. Just below the level of those three, at least in terms of national rankings, is local kid Orlando Lovejoy, who commited to EMU. Lovejoy was one of the contenders for Mr. Basketball prior to the start of the season, but he wasted much of his senior year by leaving for one of those brand new "prep" schools. He didn't finish out the season there, and returned to Romulus Summit Academy late in the year. Lost a lot of recruiting momentum doing that, but EMU stayed with him and closed the deal. In another era we could look forward to watching these guards over four years at their schools, seeing them develop and enjoying the rivalry that in state head to head competition brings. (Think of that era when Wilbert McCormick, Marlo McClain, Ray McCallum, Melvin McLaughlin, and Walker D. Russell were in collge at the same time.) Those days are gone, and if these players do have great success at their schools, some higher level schools are going to try to poach them away. Let's hope for the best and enjoy them while we can. 247sports.com/player/sonny-johnson-jr-46058805/247sports.com/player/seth-hubbard-46111522/n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2022/reggie-bass-258429verbalcommits.com/players/orlando-lovejoy

WMU actually has two more. In addition to Seth Hubbard, the Broncos also landed JaVaungh Hannah, a kid from Mount Clemens who finished at OL St. Mary's, and Jefferson Monegro, the kid from Canada and Orangeville Prep. Both players are ranked as three star recruits by Rivals. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2022/jefferson-monegro-270278n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2022/javaughn-hannah-255555

Does anyone know if Sonny made a full recovery and how he did at the end of the season? I don't believe he ever made it back for the end of the season. I'd assume/hope he's fully recovered at this point
