Seems like both OU and UDM should just agree to play this Monday. Instead of hosting an NAIA team, Oakland could just head over to Calihan Hall. Problem solved. Simple solution, right. I find it impossible to believe that they couldn't make up that game. Someone just doesn't want to play it. An actual reporter would dig into it rather than just be a stenographer. You hit the nail on the head twice First on someone doesn't want to play this game. There is no reason why it is easier to schedule a game out of conference then in Second one is that their are no real reports anymore they are all just "professional dictationist". You tell them what to write and that's all they do. Sad

Davis is being nice to Kampe. Why would Kampe mention 5 road games in a row on his radio show if the date had not been discussed?

And sure enough, TP pops up in the comment section cheerleading for Kampe.

Remember how this started. Kampe was asked why he scheduled UM-Dearborn tonight instead of playing us tonight. He claimed a non-existent HL rule prevented teams from playing 5 road games in a row. Tony Paul reported that statement. And then Tony Paul and Kampe got called out on Twitter for the statement's inaccuracy.
Well, then it turns out that we offered to play OU at Calihan on February 15th. Our kirky reported that fact and Tony Paul confirmed that fact. And buried in that twitter thread is another Tony Paul tweet confirming that Kampe didn't want to play us at Calihan on February 15th because they would have been required to play 6 games in 11 days. But since we are travel partners, we also would have played 6 games in 11 days.
For those on this board who were concerned about us not trying to reschedule the game, we have learned for certain that Kampe declined to play us on February 15th and made up an excuse for scheduling UM-D tonight instead of us.

I've long been a defender of Tony Paul on Titan this and Titan Mike's old forum. My eyes have finally been opened by this. It's not so much Paul's reporting as facts things aren't facts, without any effort to verify them (that's really bad journalism--about what you'd expect from a self-proclaimed "Shane Halter" of the News), but rather his entire approach, which from the get-go was to defend whatever Kampe did, not only repeating Kampe's excuses but making up some for Kampe.
To all of you I've disagreed with in the past re Paul's reporting, I apologize. You were right. The guy is a total hack, and yes, his slights of UD and constant cheerleading for OU are the result of intentional bias.

So just to make sure I understand what's going on - Davis or a member of his staff, finally ended their silence and gave their spin on what happened to PTC (Remember, he posted this Monday Morning "Once OU starts its game tonight versus UM-Dearborn, I will post some more info"), who gave the info to Kirky (his "source close to the program"), who posted it on twitter. I took the bait (since I end up finding mostly everything that's left on twitter about the program) and then posted here. Just curious, because now that I put it all together, I feel like a dumb ass who was just being used for posting it

Just curious, because now that I put it all together, I feel like a dumb ass who was just being used for posting it Sorry I did not get to this forum within 5 minutes of the UM-D tip-off. Feb 15th was percolating through Calihan more than a week ago. Many people were advised not to schedule other things for that evening. It was not exactly a secret around there for the past 7-10 days. Then, Kampe announced the UM-D game and made his statements about the non-existent HL 5 consecutive road game rule to justify playing them instead of us last night. About the same time, Commissioner was debating Tony Paul on Twitter and getting blocked. And a thread and a poll were started about why the game was not rescheduled with some here accusing us of ducking the game. We did not duck the game even if a loss would have hurt our WL record.
