I attended the Women's practice Friday. It was an upbeat experience. The team definitely looked fit and ready to play. The full team was available. The practice was more intense than those I saw at this time last year. Kate is upping the level as she indicated would happen in year 2. It appears there will be competition for playing time this year, much more than prior years. The emphasis was on pace yesterday. Expect a team that moves the ball around much faster and can play a running or half court game. The young ladies appear to get along as a group and I am looking forward to significant improvement this season.
Last year Coach outlined her plans. Based on the timetable she projected last year she is right on track. The local recruiting is working and hopefully we will get another (other than those signed now) local signed for next year. Rumor has it that we will have a couple of double header dates this year. If we do, come early and you like what you see.
I also had a brief introduction to Sam Jefferies the new strength director. When I mentioned the girls all looked in shape he assured me that they had bought into his program and were working hard. He is happy to be here and I am sure he will make a difference in all sports eventually.
I stayed around for the start of the men's practice. A lot of players at the practice. Some were observing, but apparently the injuries were not long term. Watching both teams has my enthusiasm up a couple of notches. Hope springs eternal.

I am hoping that most of the women’s games will be on ESPN+
