We couldn’t pull off another winning ugly game and lost in overtime at IUPUI. Next game against Fort Wayne will be tough as they are a pretty nice team. Hopefully a little home court home cooking will help. Go Titans!

I will preface this comment by saying that I have not been able to watch any of the women's games, I generally check the score, boxscore, play by play, etc. to follow the team, and this year's team has definitely garnered more interest than in years past.
Does anyone who watched the game or follow the team closely know why freshman guard Makayla Johnson was in the game down the stretch vs one of our starting guards? Just looking at the play by play, she turned the ball over quite a bit and fouled IUPUI down the stretch, much of which allowed them to tie the game up and send it to OT when it seemed like we had the game wrapped up already in regulation. Was curious if this is a typical rotation for coach or if one of the more veteran guards were injured or what exactly happened there.

Our 2 starting guards are both small and one is extremely soft. She was getting beat every time down the court. She did get a strip but it was clear that they were attacking her. Jackson is a stronger player physically and did get a few pretty sketchy calls against her. Yes we should have won this game but we didn’t. Lets hope we can build on this game because Fort Wayne is about 20 points better than IUPUI.

Actually, it's our two point guards (Hooper and Gilmore) who are small. But they rarely play at the same time. The second guard in this game was Amaya Burch, who played 40 minutes. Imani McNeal and Jackson pretty much split the rest of the guard minutes. Coach Achter has said often this season that she wanted to upgrade the guard positions to bigger, and she has done that and rotates taller guards paired with Hooper or Gilmore. Usually the third guard at the end of the game is Annika Corcoran, but she was out (illness, I think).
