After only getting an offer from Samford, Daniel Oladapo has changed his mind and recommitted to Oakland. This time he really means it. As you can see from my earlier post, Oladapo has now deleted his tweet committing to Oakland. He really meant it for a while. In addition to the Samford offer, a rumor is that Maryland has now entered the recruiting picture. Oladapo is from Maryland. I'd like to be the Rolaids distributor at the O'rena right now.

Don't know anything about him but he's got good HL size: 6-7, 235.

So much goes into that; was he playing behind more talented players? Was he dealing with injury issues? I guess we'll find out about him next year. JUCO players are such a mystery.

Should we take bets on when he rescinds his "commitment"?

Oakland hires the guy from LCA and the Ilitch group who was in charge of Motor City Madness.

Updating the Oladapo saga at Oakland...apparently NOW he is going to stay at Chipola for his sophomore season instead of attend OU. All tweets on his page are gone that have ANYTHING to do with Oakland, committing, recommitting, etc. For a kid that probably wasn't going to move the needle in terms of OU success next year, it's been quite the adventure.

Should we take bets on when he rescinds his "commitment"? We had offered Brooks when he was in high school at North Farmington (Class of '17).

Something I noticed... I am going to guess that Emmanuel Newsome is related to Emmanuel (Manny) Newsome, a great player at Western Michigan in the early 1960s (he finished third in the nation in scoring in 1964 at 32.7 ppg). Newsome was an administrator at WMU when I lived there in the early 80s, then spent many years at Florida Atlantic, a few miles from where this Emmanuel Newsome went to high school. He could be son, grandson, nephew. Or maybe just a coincidence. But a Michigan connection might explain him ending up at OU.
