Per Twitter Wayne Memorial 2018 guard Rashad Williams will announce his commitment October 19 at 2:30 p.m., in the school's library. This would be a great and underrated addition to our recruiting class if we can get him. Personally, this is my first choice for a realistic guard addition in the class of 2018 It's Cleveland State University Depressing.

Weird: Bacari Alexander "liked" a tweet by Rashad Phillips that celebrates Rashad Williams signing with Cleveland State.
Bacari Alexander liked Rashad Phillips @rp3natural · 14h14 hours ago Cleveland State adds a kid like Rashad to the Horizon league is exactly what our conference needs. Ticket seller players and Shad's that.

Meadowcreek (Georgia) F Cory Hightower will be visiting this weekend. No other publicly known offers for Hightower, though apparently Murray State and Evansville were in to see him last month. Titans offered back in May. Some video

Another D1 2018 Michigan commit (although we weren't recruiting him) - 6’7 Plymouth G Anthony Crump has committed to UNC Asheville.

Always good. Hightower has, to my knowledge, no other publicly reported D-I offers, so this didn't terribly surprise me. But our staff wanted him, and it's good when the staff gets the guys they want. The scouting reports I've seen on him are pretty good, and he looks like he may be a classic HL player--that is, just a little short for his skill set to get high major offers. He is said to be a good high post player, which we haven't had in a while. If Khalil Chatman signs early, along with Hightower and Nelson, that will replace our graduating class of Hogan, Black, and Prince, and the staff can focus on 2019. We may get one or two more openings from transfers or from Isaiah Jones, who will need a waiver to get a final year of eligibility in 2018-19 (or we may let Jones go). Anyway, excellent news, and welcome home to Michigan, Cory Hightower! His father proudly announced on Twitter that his son would be attending "The University of Detroit". I like the family already.

Mitchell will sign with Central Michigan next month. He was one of the first verbal commits in the Class of '18 and stuck to it.

Lamar Norman will announce his commitment on Wednesday November 1. He might be the only Michigan guard left that I'd really like. He's received some high major interest, so it's probably unlikely, but eventually BA needs to sign one of these type of local players.

If he chooses us, that means either a) we're not getting Khalil Chatman, or b) Bacari knows he has a 4th scholarship next year (I. Jones?). My guess: Duquesne.

I think we will get the young Chatman for next season, but I think the single on line source for the info may not be correct/he hasn't committed yet. I would be shocked if I. Jones returned next season, so I'm expecting a minimum of 4 scholarships to be open. My Guess for Norman: UTEP.

UTEP was my second choice guess. And I agree, I don't expect Isaiah back.
I think on Chatman a lot of people sort of assume he'll sign with the Titans, and then cuts into his recruitment, and sometimes comes out of people as "we'll of course he's committed to Detroit."
We'll see. For 2018, I like Nelson. I think Hightower is more of a question mark. So far BA seems to have done reasonably well in 2017 and 2018, but that's been in large part from exploiting atypical advantages. And even at that, we're not getting, yet anyway, the superior level of recruit some promised. I like JJJ and Ballantyne but can't rank them above McCallum recruits such as Jaleel and Allen. But we'll see there, too.

Although B.A. and company have yet to land a superior recruit, I do like that they are expanding our normal recruiting areas, for 2018 we have landed a recruit in Ohio (Nelson) and technically Georgia (Hightower).
