Names I noticed: Myron Gardner, 6-6, 220, F, Fr., Georgetown. From Detroit Loyola HS, played senior year at Spire. Had an offer from the Titans before his junior year, but his stock rose and he chose G'town over Minnesota, Missouri, Xavier, others. Played in 8 games for the Hoyas, averaging just over 10 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds. This is the kind of guy who sometimes is looking a) to return home; and b) to get more PT. Drew Lowder, 6-0, 170, G, Fr., Holy Cross. From Ann Arbor. I don't believe we offered Lowder, but we definitely had some contact. Not that we need a lot more smallish guards, but we definitely need a point guard, and Lowder is a point guard. But why is he transferring? Holy Cross has played terribly this year, but Lowder has played a lot and played well (over 26 minutes/game, 14.1 ppg, 3.3 apg, over 40% from three). They did have a coaching change from Bill Carmody, who signed him in the fall, to Brett Nelson. With his numbers he may have high major options.

Officially no charges filed against Gardner (or the other 2 Hoyas) in the robbery case. It seems the other 2 guys had restraining orders taken out against them but not Gardner. It's certainly not Kendrick Nunn levels of crime and offense, and people deserve 2nd changes. Wherever Gardener goes hopefully he takes stock and takes advantage of whatever 2nd chance he gets.

I saw this on Twitter and I got confused. Then I remembered we aren't a D2 team (although our recent record may indicate otherwise)😁
*before someone goes nuts, this is a joke*

Averaged 20.3ppg/11.5 rpg last season. This season is at 19.6ppg/14.4rpg. Mercy College is in Dobbs Ferry, New York. If we need a D2 game next season, maybe we should call them and let confusion reign

Wichita State saw four players enter the transfer portal today, including two sophomore guards who averaged double figures for them. If Wichita State can't hold onto players after a 23-8 season, and given their recent success, it's a bad sign for any program that isn't a high major.

Plus they have amazing facilities, play in front of sellout crowds, have a fan base that travels, and it’s not like the AAC is a hack conference.

Sign of the times, showing the way that outside forces plant that transfer bug in the ear of players who might not be thinking about it otherwise. Xavier Johnson is the starting point guard for Pittsburgh. He posted the following on social media, apparently after some indirect contacts trying to get him to transfer from Pitt.
"Just want to clear this up with the people that’s curious. I am not going anywhere. I came to the Pittsburgh for a reason, and one of the main reasons was to leave a legacy and the main concern is to win. Please stop contacting my friends and family. Thank you!"

4.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg this year as a soph, after hardly playing as a freshman. He was definitely a project coming out of HS, got better this year. Of course Holy Cross only won 3 games and plays in the Patriot Conference. Still, give him a redshirt transfer year, he could probably help some teams, including us. What he wants to do, and whether we have better options, I don't know.
