What's your early prediction?

I'm feeling pretty optimistic today, so I voted for first place. We need some front court help, but if CB is as advertised, we'll have one of the best backcourt rotations in the Midwest.
I think having a senior point guard of Ray's caliber will be huge, so if he returns, I feel pretty good about 2013-2014.

Some jumped on Kirky about being optimistic about CB but maybe he has watched him scrimmage with the team. Before Jason was injured I watched him just eat up our guards. Jason should stay and run the offense.

If Ray and Jason stay and we get at least 1 quality JUCO center or pf who can start, i say 1st place. If Ray and Jason don't come back, and we don't land a starter big man, I say 5th or 6th.

I say 1st place. We run a 3 guard with Evan and we sign 2 Jucos and 2 4 year guys. Press the entire game and run teams with bigs right out of the gym

I have us losing to pepperdine in the national championship. That would be cool to make it the Championship game, and I would like our chances against Pepperdine, but the odds of either school making it are very very slim, and both making it astronomical.

I'm thinking third also. But will upgrade [or downgrade] when our team is set.

I expect the starting line up to include McCallum, Brundidge, Howard, Bruinsma and Wilson/Calliste. Njoku will most likely be the only reserve with any D1 experience if Calliste doesn't return.
All of the new recruiting prospects received ESPN evaluation scores between 74-77 or no ranking. I doubt if any will make much of an impact in their first year of D1 competition.
The Titans will be small and quick with very little bench depth. Probably third or fourth in the Horizon League.

A score in the 70s is "a fringe high-major recruit who contributes or a standout mid-level recruit." They only rank 109 players this year at 80 or above. So if you haven't made that mental adjustment, it's a big difference. Take Jordan Fouse, the Horizon's leading rebounder this year as a freshman - last year his 88 score ranked him 62nd among small forwards at ESPN. This year an 88 score would be 9th. Meanwhile, a 77 score would be 32nd - well above where they ranked Fouse last year. So there are certainly guys who can contribute.

Anyone know what Doug and Nick's evaluation scores were? Both of them had solid first years at D1.

Hopefully, the Titans will sign a few of these recruits. Anyone know what Doug and Nick's evaluation scores were? Both of them had solid first years at D1. Neither received an ESPN evaluation. Based on ESPN's previous evaluation system, I would estimate Nick at about 88 and Doug about 80.

Numero uno. Contigent on Ray and Jason coming back and some improvement in the low post. CB should be a new bright spot and Juwan and Evan will be better, not that they weren't big contributers this year. I also think this is the year PJ comes into his own and gives us solid consitant minutes.
The only thing bothering me is that we are going to lose a lot with DA and NM gone, and our backups were lacking. That just keeps nagging at my brain and makes me feel like a 3rd is more realistic. But still, officially--Number 1.
