Three recent PAC 12 class of 2022 commitments, running the recruit spectrum:
Keyon Menifield, formerly of Flint Michigan but currently at a prep school in Phoenix, committed to Washington. He's not ranked by Rivals or 24/7. His offers were almost all mid major officers. Might surprise some people at the high major level, might end up in the portal. (Making a note of his name for future UD and EMU consideration.)
Tyler Bilodeau of Kennewick, Washington verbally committed to Oregon State. He's ranked a three star recruit, and reported an offer from Washington State and from some mid majors. Probably four year program player at Washington, unless there is a coaching change.
Adem Bona is ranked as a five star recruit by ESPN and 24/7. In the end, he chose UCLA over Kentucky. Hopes to be a one and done, but the NBA doesn't love centers like it used to. We'll see.

Blue Ribbon picks the PAC 12 this way:
1. UCLA 2. Oregon 3. USC 4. Washington State 5. Oregon State 6. Arizona State 7. Arizona 8. Colorado 9. Utah 10. Stanford 11. Washington 12. California
Can the Conference of Champions put together a solid regular season with some big non-conference wins? They failed to do that last season but overcame it with a great NCAA tournament showing.

The PAC 12 is having one of those weeks where they put up multiple contenders for MMWOTD.
Monday: Tulsa over Oregon State Tuesday: BYU over #12 Oregon Thursday: Samford over Oregon State, Wyoming over Washington

Do I pick on the PAC 12 too much? Sometimes it seems like I do.
In actuality, some of my favorite college basketball players ever played at the PAC 12 and of course UCLA had one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. But in recent years, they have made it really easy to be critical. Case in point, this past week.
Sunday, November 21: Princeton 81, Oregon State 80.
November 23: St. Mary's 62, Oregon 50. #1 Gonzaga 83, #2 UCLA. (Yeah, it's Gonzaga, but the Bruins were ranked second in the country.)
November 24: #12 Houston 78, Oregon 49. (Yeah, it's Houston, but it was 49-19 at the half.) Nevada 81, Washington 62. #6 Baylor 75, Arizona State 63. (It wasn't that close.)
November 25: Syracuse 92, Arizona State 84. (It wasn't that close; it was 48-30 at the half.)
November 26: Loyola-Chicago 77, Arizona State 59. Wake Forest 80, Oregon State 77. (Not a bad loss per se', but OSU dropped to 1-5 after making the Sweet Sixteen last season.)
November 27: Worst day of the week. Penn State 60, Oregon State 45. #18 BYU 75, Utah 64. (Utah knocked out of the running for the state championship.) Eastern Washington 76, Washington State 71. (WSU blew a 12-point halftime lead to a mid-major that was 2-3 coming in.) Winthrop 82, Washington 74.
On the plus side, the week did include Arizona dismantling Michigan, but that was after UM lost to Seton Hall and prior to the Wolverines struggling against Tarleton State. A little shine came off that win.
Conference play is beginning for the PAC 12 so there are only a few opportunities left for the conference to pick up some big non-league wins. There are however, plenty more mid major traps.

Washington is probably the only program in the country glad that Covid-19 hasn't eradicated. After dropping two in a row to fall to 4-4, the Huskies faced an upcoming schedule of Arizona, UCLA, and Gonzaga. Just in time, corona virus issues popped up at UW, and Arizona was postponed, UCLA was declared the winner via forfeit, and Gonzaga was cancelled. More than likely kept Washington from suffering a five game losing streak.

The PAC 12 looks top heavy this year, with the AP Poll listing UCLA at #3, USC #5, and Arizona at #6. That's impressive, no matter how you look at it.
Some of that is just carry over from preseason rankings, though. USC's best win is over Mountain West San Diego State. Their second best win is probably their win over 6-8 Georgia Tech.
Arizona has a very good win at Illinois, but their win Michigan doesn't look like much now.
UCLA has a very good win over Villanova and a solid win over Marquette. The rest of their wins are mid major teams.
After some disappointing tournament seeds, the PAC 12 made a habit of scheduling soft in the non-conference a few years ago. Sometimes it helps them, sometimes it doesn't.

As soon as I give the PAC 12 some praise, USC blows their undefeated season with a loss to Stanford, a game that USC started as a 7 point favorite.

As soon as I give the PAC 12 some praise, USC blows their undefeated season with a loss to Stanford, a game that USC started as a 7 point favorite. This is why the PAC 12 can't have nice things: UCLA, happily sitting at #3 in the nation and a ten point favorite over Oregon at Pauley Pavilion, lost to Oregon in OT. Congrats to Dana Altman on his 700th career victory.

As soon as I give the PAC 12 some praise, USC blows their undefeated season with a loss to Stanford, a game that USC started as a 7 point favorite. USC's #5 ranking was their best showing in the polls since the 1970s. They responded by losing to Stanford and Oregon, two unranked teams.

UCLA was riding a wave of momentum at the start of the week before road losses to Arizona (expected) and Arizona State (unexpected).
