I'm very sad to report that the biggest Titans fan of all, Reggie Hall, passed away this morning at age 58, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Saturday night. Truly a dark day for all of us.

From UDM Athletics, re passing of John Conti and Reggie Hall: UDM has lost two Titan super fans this week. Athletics will hold a tribute at 7:25 p.m. at tonight's basketball game, just before tip-off. For more information please visit It pains me to miss tonight's game. My wife had surgery earlier today--not much else would keep me away. Please try to get out to the game to honor Titan Reggie and John Conti.

I've invited some friends as well. At least two are meeting me there.

Sam was true to his word. He brought a couple of friends who are a lot of fun to watch a game with. Along with upbasketballfan, his wife, Mrs. UP, and kirky, we all watched the game together and it made last evening much easier for me. I appreciate their fellowship a lot. (If they need something, they can just ask.) There were times we actually laughed at something, which didn't seem possible when I was sitting alone during the women's game. To their credit, the Lady Titans played a good game but I was feeling melancholy. Not that I expected the occasion be easy; it positively sucks that Reggie is gone. It will take a while before I attend a game and not find myself looking around and expecting him to be there. I try to be a realist, and I don't cry easily, especially in public, but Reggie's death has hit me harder than I would've expected. It just doesn't seem quite real yet.

I'm sending good wishes and prayers on your wife's behalf for good results and a speedy recovery. Somewhere (I personally believe it's in Heaven), I'm sure Reggie understands. We all do.

www.gofundme.com/titanreggie"Our dear friend and colleague, Reggie Hall, University of Detroit alum, Titan baseball player, and longtime sports producer at WXYZ-TV 7 and WJBK 2 Detroit passed away on December 9th. In conjunction with the university and WXYZ, we are planning a significant event in the Detroit area for Friday December 18 in order to celebrate Reggie's life and allow his friends and colleagues to pay their respects. We are looking to raise money to help partially cover the cost of this event, with any residual amount being set aside for a foundation/scholarship and/or award at UD Mercy." The Commish is in, and I'm sure all donations of whatever size are appreciated and a fitting tribute to Titan Reggie.

Per the Detroit Titans Facebook page, the Titans will honor Reggie by wearing the letters TR on their uniforms. Classy move.
