So Justin Miller and Joe Jones will be announcing today (of course, Miller's important decision could be just about anything).😁 We need big men and both would help. I feel good that we get at least one today

I would have loved to have Jones, but I think he will do well at Georgia State, too. Look for them to be good again next year.

Were we really battling GSU for this player? Weeks ago, according to our assistant coach who spoke with rogobob, we had already received commitments from two other centers. One is a 6'11" freshman. Maybe we evaluated that freshman player higher than Jones. Or maybe Jones eliminated us from his final group of schools weeks or months ago. Just because we offered a player months ago does not mean the offer remains on the table forever. Verbal offers are not binding on the school. Nor are verbal commitments binding on the player - the Shaq McKissic rule.
Just remember that Jones was playing on the team that is supposedly one notch below the talent level of the team on which Cole Long played at the same institutions.
And half of the HL schools have not yet issued any press releases announcing any of their Spring men's BB signings. As a fan, I would rather know some information now. However, as long as we have the players committed and working together all summer, the date of the school's formal announcement of their identities is relatively unimportant to me at this time.

Justin Miller didn't end up announcing yesterday - and has since taken down the tweet that said he was going to. Of course it could mean anything so who knows.

Spoke to one of the assistants after tonight’s event. He said we have three firm commitments in addition to Pink. A 7-1 grad transfer, a 6-11 freshman, and another grad transfer (I’m guessing BJ Maxwell). We had a 6-8 Belgium kid ready to sign but he backed out due to the APR issue. We hope to get at least two more commitments soon and look for the entire recruiting class to be wrapped up and announced in about two weeks. Just to summarize where I believe we stand right now and what the roster looks like: If Davis is a walk on (as has been reported) and the previously reported walk on's remain as walk on's, the scholarship players that are eligible to return are: Harrison Curry Chris Brandon Willy Isiani Lamar Hamrick Marquis Moore Boe Nguidjol That would leave 7 scholarships - 3 of which we can be fairly certain are take by Pink, Rose and Maxwell (the "other grad transfer"). If we have an unnamed 7-1 grad transfer, and an unnamed 6-11 freshman in the fold, then it appears that 2 scholarships are open (which could have been the F/C Belgian, who got cold feet and backed out, and F Miller, who is in limbo/may have had a change of heart). I'm also thinking that the announcement might have to wait until August if someone needs summer courses to become eligible (let's say completing summer courses would change someone's status from a "sit one to play one transfer" to a "grad transfer", so that player couldn't make his announcement yet...)

There’s quite a bit of talent on that list. If they bond over the summer and get conditioned under the Davis system they could do well. I see two problems. (1) we still need someone to play the 5 spot well for at least 25 min a game, so let’s hope this 7-1 fellow actually signs up. (2) we need to get the ban overturned ASAP so it doesn’t discourage the players.

Justin Miller never tweeted that he was going to announce anything yesterday. It would be great if he plays for us in 2019-20 or in 2020-21 if he does not get immediate eligibility. He is a good player and would help us a lot.
From publicly available information, it appears that we have 3 guards. Scout has listed them. Also, we have two big men who remain unnamed. Justin Miller would be a great addition to this group. I would not classify Miller as "in limbo or may have had a change of heart." He made a visit. His decision is not known publicly as of this moment.
