Jackson looks like a really solid pick up for the Jags. I would be excited if the Titans had signed him. He had some high major offers a couple of years ago, but still looks like a potentially really good player in the HL.

I find myself hoping that IUPUI is able to field a better team in 2022-23 (except when they play U-D). I found myself feeling bad for them as they became a punch line among college basketball observers. Their players continued to play hard and their staff stayed engaged the entire time. I never saw them mail in a game. With their roster being decimated by transfers (and they only had five scholarship players at the end of the season anyway) my thought was that they should hit the JUCO field hard, to add some maturity and experience as they filled out the roster. So far, it looks like that it was they are doing. They have five JUCO players committed or signed for the class of 2022, and it looks like a decent crop. Hasim Abdul Hakim: 6-7 forward. 13 points, 6 rebounds per game. Ranked #40 in the JUCO Recruiting Top 100. Kharye Cayne: 6-10 center. Two time Defensive Player of the Year for his JUCO region. Cooper Dewitt: 6-6 guard/forward. 14ppg, 40% from three, 85% free throws. Jlynn Counter: 6-3 guard. 16ppg, 39% from three, 75% free throws. Daylan Hamilton: 6-3 guard. Former Western Michigan Bronco, currently at Triton College. 10 ppg, shooting percentages of 44, 40, and 73. Always hard to tell how JUCO players will perform at D1, but they all had solid production on good JUCO programs. You have to figure at least two or three will be able to contribute. And over the past week, the Jags made offers to an additional three JUCO players. The Jag class also consists of two incoming freshman, Indianapolis brothers Armon and Ahmad Jarrard. I don't expect much from IUPUI, but it looks like they will at least have a full roster to start the season. Hakim is reopening his recruitment.

A big man that we had offered at one time Big Chuk Isitua has entered the portal. Averaged 6 and 5 as a freshman last year. Disappointing loss for the Jags.

IUPUI transfer Chuks Isitua has heard from: BYU Oakland Montana State Tennessee State Fresno State Northern Illinois ETSU Isitua averaged 5.6 points and 4.6 rebounds this year. Is a 6'11 big man who held multiple Power 6 offers out of high school.

The Jags are still hitting the JUCO route hard. Guard John Egbuta of Albany Tech junior college announced his commitment to IUPUI today. Solid Juco stats, averaging 16 ppg while hitting an eye opening 61% from the floor. I look at mid major commitments with the thought, "Would I be happy if the Titans signed this guy?" In this case, the answer is yes. www.thegcaa.com/sports/mbkb/2021-22/players/johnegbutaig4x

Wow. They've signed 8 players, they've officially acknowledged it, and it's only mid May? I thought that kind of stuff was impossible until at least August, with admissions hurdles, transfer paperwork, etc, etc

This guy has had a wandering path, with stops at the highest and lowest levels of the collegiate sport. He started out in 2017-18 as a freshman at NAIA LSU-Alexandria. He redshirted that first year, and averaged just four points and two boards per game in his second year. He went to JUCO Lee College in Texas after that, averaging a solid 11, 5, and 1.5 at that respected program. From there he moved all the way up to Arizona State in 2020-21, starting 6 of the 24 games he appeared in, averaged 3 points and 2 boards per game. Dropped down to Northern Illinois next, and I'm sure the fans were glad to have him, but it turned into a lost season, with him averaging 1.6 and 1.5 in 13 games, starting three. I'm not sure what happened with him there, but if IUPUI is getting the version of him that averaged 16 minutes in 24 games for ASU, he could be a contributor on the HL level. Foul him down the stretch, though. He hit 39 and 36% from the free throw line the past two seasons. IUPUI is his fifth college program.
