www.trentonian.com/article/TT/20160114/SPORTS/160119857I hadn't noticed this either. I suppose when a freshman who scarcely plays leaves Rider, it's not exactly on the front of the sports page. But I'm also surprised he hasn't done more. Steve Bell and TJ Kelly were quite high on James, if I recall.

I expected him to be an impact player at Rider. I thought he would be an impact player in the HL as a freshman. Kind of reminds me Jeron Rogers, another local kid I thought would be contributing as a sophomore. Both of those kids were rated higher than our own Gerald Blackshear by some sources.

Remember Malik Alberts, high scoring JUCO guard from Mott? I don't think we were ever in the mix for him, and he landed at Creighton. It was announced today that he is leaving the program. He'll have a year of eligibility left, but will have to sit a year if he stays D1. Again, that college choice is so critical for a JUCO player. You beat me by a few minutes. Lol LOL. Yeah, I guess so. Good call. I really feel for the player in this situation. Looks like he would have been better off in a different situation, maybe on the MAC or HL level, but I'm sure he was excited about the opportunity to play in the Big East. Now, he's looking for a new home and there probably isn't much of a market for a sit one/play one shooting guard who struggled in his previous stop. On a much larger stage, the same thing happened to Mychal Mulder at Kentucky. He was one of the top ranked JUCO players in the class of 2015 and was weighing several high major offers when Kentucky came in late and made him an offer. Coach Cal sweet talked him into thinking he would be a big part of the rotation, then promptly recruited over him later in the Spring. Mulder hardly played this season, logging in a total of 90 minutes while shooting 4-20 overall from the floor, including 2-12 from the free throw line. Next year won't be any better for him, but he's another sit one/play one transfer, without much of a track record to gain interest.

After transferring out of Rider, former almost Titan player Lacey James has now settled on Northern Illinois as his next destination. Odd that a player who saw almost no playing time at a MAAC school could transfer and take a small step up to the MAC

Odd that a player who saw almost no playing time at a MAAC school could transfer and take a small step up to the MAC I wondered where he was going to end up. Surprising that he would go "up" after struggling in the MAAC, and I'm kind of surprised that Northern Illinois would be interested. Perhaps his health issues were holding him back last year and there are indications that those are in the past for him now. I hope it all works out for him.

Isn't Michigan native Lou Dawkins on the staff at Northern Illinois? I bet there's a connection somewhere.

Looks like LaMonta Stone is leaving EMU. I'm not sure if this tweet is correct, though, about the years he has left. If he gets a medical red shirts this year, he will still need to sit a year if he transfers to a D1 program, right?
Reggie Rankin @reggierankin 36m36 minutes ago Confirmed LaMonta Stone II not returning to Eastern Michigan, getting Medical RS. Will be ready in the fall 4 yrs to play.

And of course sitting will give him just 3 more years to use up his eligibility, unless he gets a waiver, which is no sure thing.

Tanner Eubank was a focus of Titan interest in the class of 2015, and had a multiple quality mid major programs looking at thim. He took a prep year to Elev8 Academy in 2015-16, probably for academic reasons, but appears to still have fallen short of NCAA requirement. He will reportedly be at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
