The state of athletic housing has been a constant on Coach Davis' radar since he arrived. Housing (along with training table) has been on the RTC roadmap since the start. For perspective, next year will be 50th anniversary of my graduation, and the Quad was opened my freshman year. It is not anything to be proud of or to use as a recruiting tool.

I would prefer if he was a better "salesman" for the school, but it's not him. I'd prefer he be a better salesman as well, though I'd settle for him being a more successful coach for my alma mater. Coach is pretty rough around the edges for a dude boasting a .395 winning percentage. I celebrated the hire and still hope he can turn it around at 6 and Liv, but blasting the school while winning less than 40% of your games (in a poor conference) isn't a good combo for some fans... myself included. If he can't make some serious noise this season, I think he should be shown the door. P.S. "Serious noise" is not 18-14 with a 3rd place Horizon finish and a bunch of excuses why it wasnt better. I'd like to see something better than that in AD's final season.

The exact excerpt from the article containing the statement about housing is this: Once the old Fisher Admin building is demolished and that site cleared, new dorms are supposed to be built along the old Petoskey street more or less on the site of the current parking lot across from Reno Hall, which is or is scheduled to be torn down.

That's a nice shout out from AJ. Davis did a very good job at IU. It's always hard to follow a legend, and that job was made even worse by Knight backstabbing and undermining him after Davis took over. Lots of his former players continue to carry great affection for Davis, and lots of IU fans are realizing he was mistreated while he was there.

FWIW, below is a link to “Hot Seat Report - 27 College Basketball Coaches on the Hot Seat” which includes Mike Davis of Detroit Mercy. www.coachesdatabase.com/college-basketball-hot-seat-report/Here’s the section specific to Davis: “Davis signed a five-year deal when he was hired at Detroit Mercy in 2018, so with no report extensions it seems that this is a contract year for the head coach. The Titans finished above .500 just once in four full seasons under Davis (12-10 in 2020-21) and did get a postseason invitation last year (TBC), but the tenure has been extremely underwhelming. The Titans’ star player is Mike’s son, Antoine Davis, who is also in his fifth (and definitely final) year there. The younger Davis is one of the most prolific scorers and three-point shooters in D-I history but only had a 45-69 career record coming into this season. UPDATE: Antoine Davis keeps breaking records and the Titans keep struggling as a team, now 9-15 (5-8) and near the bottom of the league.” From the info I’ve heard and vibrations I pick up, I believe Davis actually signed a seven-year deal, don’t know what the terms are if let go prior to completion of the contract. I think most likely he will coach at Detroit two more years and then move on to retirement.
