Tell us about Michael Thomas. Best high school coach in the state. Young, energetic, relatable. Two state titles and a runner up at Kalamazoo Central. Instantly turned Grand Blanc into a contender at the state level. He should have been hired instead of BA. That's all anybody really needs to know about Thomas. Also, we'd save quite a bit in salary, but would probably give it back in incentives when he leads us back to the NCAAs.

I listened to the last half-hour of the show. Not sure I picked up any new info, other than the fact that Coach doesn’t like to use e-mail. The host asked Davis how far the school is from 8 Mile, and he responded “about two miles.” As indicated above, Antoine Davis is the scheduled guest for next week.

I tried to locate an archive of the interview yesterday, but no luck (sounds like it wouldn't be worth it anyways)

Yes, I listened live. Davis talked a bit about recruiting in current environment where face-to-face contact and campus visits are off the table. He was asked about the experience of coaching his son. Davis also went on a bit regarding how recruits just want to hear that they are the next Michael Jordan even if they aren’t very good. He talked about what qualities he looks for in a recruit.

Thank you. I was busy Monday and just assumed they would make it available to listen to later.

FWIW, a paragraph from Tony Paul in today’s Detroit News:
“Detroit Mercy's Mike Davis, who just wrapped a third season on the job and could be seen as a hot commodity for some of the current and upcoming openings. It's unclear if Davis wants out just yet; his team was among the hottest in the Horizon League before falling at the buzzer in the quarterfinals, and everybody is expected back, including son and star point guard Antoine Davis. This is a team on the rise; an NCAA Tournament bid next season could land Davis another Power Five opportunity, his first since Indiana.”
