I can't even ponder how many years he is eligible to play? Four total?
Btw - ASI Academy is a prep school in California. Their roster web site page for last season lists 9 players as moving on to some level of college basketball. Isiani is already listed as committed to the University of Detroit Mercy.

I like that kid. :-) These "get to know" features are a great touch, particularly this year with so many new players.

Yeah, it certainly seems so on paper. Time will tell, but he has size and is obviously experienced beyond his age, basketball-wise. Considering the time crunch we were under, he was a good signing. Chicago basketball guys I know love Coach Dildy. I am optimistic about the impact he will have on the program.

I don't think the Titans will be very good this year, but I feel better about the Titans than in some time. These features are a good part of that--you get to know the kids a little bit, and they all come across well. Also, you can read through these and feel the confidence they have in the coaches, in the sense that they are learning and preparing. Too much drama the last 5 or so years. That seems to be ended.

The only other thing I want from Davis in the short term is to see how he coaches the team on the court during the games, and of course, a few talented signings this month. I am looking forward to the Q & A's with Brandon and Gorman

I'm beginning to worry that we may never see Willie in a Titan uniform.
The NCAA requires amateurism (at least of a type, for you cynics). Here's from the NCAA website (these are not the actual language of the rules, this is general advice to student/athletes):
"The following activities may impact your amateur status:
Signing a contract with a professional team Playing with professionals Participating in tryouts or practices with a professional team Accepting payments or preferential benefits for playing sports Accepting prize money above your expenses Accepting benefits from an agent or prospective agent Agreeing to be represented by an agent Delaying your full-time college enrollment to play in organized sports competitions."
Willie is already 21 years old. At some point he apparently joined CB Gran Canaria--he's got a picture of himself in Gran Canaria uniform on his FB page, and it's listed on his official Titan bio. In his "Meet the Titans" interview he talks about going to Spain at age 16 for 3 years. According to the always authoritative Wikipedia, CB Gran Canaria is "a professional basketball club based in Las Palmas, Spain." It plays in Liga ACB, which is the top professional league in Spain.
However, two of those years (2013-14 and 2014-15) were with Gran Canaria Junior. I assume this would still be amateur. In 2015-16 and 2016-17 he's listed playing with Gran Canaria EBA, which is a 4th tier Spanish League and is an amateur league (but I'm not sure if it there are not some paid players, i.e. more like what we'd call "semi-pro." (A web page that appears up-to-date and lists Gran Canaria's all-time roster--I assume for the ACB League professional team-- doesn't include Willie.) All this European stuff is a bit crazy to us, but at a minimum, I worry that he would have been "playing with professionals" or "participating in tryouts or practices with a professional team."
Further, his age and the years in Spain suggest that he delayed his entry to college for more than a year to "play in organized sports competitions." That may be an issue.
As usual, the University is mum, and it may be that they can't say what the holdup is. On the other board, a poster suggested he has to sit for 6 games--which would mean he'd be eligible for Kent State on Wednesday. We'll see it that turns out to be true. I'm not quite sure how a six-game suspension makes sense, but then, the NCAA works in mysterious ways.

That was me on the other board. I hope you’re wrong but who knows. I’m surprised that he would stick around if he thought the odds were so low.
