Their NET ranking is 107. The WAC is the 25th rated conference (the Horizon is #22). Only one other WAC team was above .500 this year (Cal Baptist) and none had a NET rating below 200. It would be a shame if NM State is upset in the tournament.

From Jon Rothstein: "SEVEN top seeds in mid-major conference tournaments have already been eliminated and will not play in the NCAA Tournament. This is the dark side of March."
This is a little more significant this year with the NIT having a much smaller field than usual.

This is a little more significant this year with the NIT having a much smaller field than usual. They are: James Madison (13-7, NET #139), Colonial UMBC (14-6, #141), America East Wagner (13-5, #163), Northeast Navy (15-3, #96), Patriot Belmont (26-4, #91), Ohio Valley [Title to #2 seed Morehead State, 23-7, #123] South Dakota State (16-7, #126), Summit Texas State (18-7, #152), Sunbelt [Title to #8 seed Appalachian State, 17-11, #210] Top seeds that have moved on are: Liberty (23-5, #83), ASUN Winthrop (23-1, #54), Big South Loyola (24-4, #10), MVC UNC-Greensboro (13-5, #88), Southern Loyola is one of the few--perhaps only--mid-major that would have gotten an at-large bid.

Future Titan program goals: The following mid major teams put up some flashy win/loss records under the radar.
Liberty, ASUN. 23-6 Southern Utah, Big Sky. 20-4 Winthrop, Big South. 23-2 UC Santa Barbara, Big West, 22-5 Belmont, Ohio Valley. 26-4 Morehead State, Ohio Valley. 23-8 UNC Greensboro, Southern Conference. 21-9 Abilene Christian University, Southland, 24-5

Mixed results for Oral Roberts:
Max Abmas, whose star rose during the NCAA tournament with wins over Ohio State and Florida, has withdrawn from the NBA draft process. Despite what I am sure was significant high major interest, he says he's staying at ORU.
On the downside, ORU forward Kevin Obanor, who averaged roughly 19 and 10 this past season, is entering the transfer portal after also withdrawing from the draft.
ORU may have their eventual replacement for Obanor in 6-9 class of 2021 forward Sir Issac Herron. Sir Issac (I would always call him that if he played for the Titans) had high major interest and a lot of mid major offers.

The Red Raiders have raided (pardon the pun) the mid major ranks this Spring/Summer.

Texas Southern releases their non-conference schedule. All road games.
Oregon St. Mary's Washington Air Force NC State BYU La Tech Florida UTRGV Cincinnati TCU
There's upset potential there, and a nice overall payday.

The MEAC took huge hits via the pandemic last season, and are looking for a return to normal. NC Central practiced on 13 times and had a seven week stretch between games. Howard only played five games and two programs opted out of the season.
Down to eight teams, the MEAC is predicted to go this way per Blue Ribbon.
1. Morgan State 2. Norfolk State 3. North Carolina Central 4. Coppin State 5. Howard 6. South Carolina State 7. University of Maryland Eastern Shore 8. Delaware State
