Now living in Nashville, I saw Broome play vs Belmont about 2 weeks ago. Morehead State led the whole game til Belmont finally went ahead 49-48 with 4 seconds left to win it.
All I could think of was....what if we had Broome? How did he end up at Morehead State? Belmont has a nice big man of its own, a 6-11 grad student with over 1,800 career points. Broome isn't quite as good offensively, but he's better on defense and sucks up rebounds. He literally changes the game, challenging everyone who takes the ball inside. A shot-blocking intimidator who gets in the heads of everyone on the other team. If we had him this year, the sky would be the limit...

I saw this article about Southern Indiana basketball yesterday. They are transitioning to D1 (OVC). I wish we could run our program this way:
1. Roster released/roster is full (with walk ons) & coach comments on the 8 newcomers 2. Although schedule is not final yet, coach gives an update on who they have so far 3 Although not eligible for the NCAA tourney this season, are expecting to be a strong team and have "already begun to invest some money in the CBI," (and it's $50,000 entry fee) "If we do our part on the basketball court, that will be our postseason." And, directly from the article: 4. USI officially began summer practices last week and ultimately will be on campus for eight weeks of workouts until the end of July. The Eagles are allotted eight hours of training per week. Four of them are used on the court, the other four are in the weight room. These first four weeks will be used to work on defense while the rest will mostly involve offensive drills. While Gouard wants to see growth in their individual abilities, he hopes they get accustomed to playing with one another. It's key for each player to understand how their teammates work because they have so many new faces. That often starts off the court. This Tuesday, they went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and spent a couple of hours getting to know each other. "I think the biggest thing is that our guys have to get to know each other outside of the lines," Gouard said. "These guys are a good group."
These guys are our complete polar opposites

Just one Titans opponent in the top 25, Bryant at #20. Looks like that might be a tougher matchup than I thought.
