Be a part of Detroit Mercy history and help support the defending Horizon League women’s softball champions with a purchase of a brick at the stadium as part of the Titan Club Brick Paver Project at Buysse Ballpark. The bricks come in two sizes (4”X8” for $135, and 8”X8” for $200) and can be personalized to show your support for the red, white and blue. Proceeds will be donated directly to the softball program. For additional information or to initiate a purchase, visit detroittitans.com/sb_output.aspx?form=95If you have any questions regarding this initiative, please feel free to contact Mike McGill, Titan Athletic Club Secretary, at mike@apartmentcabs.com

There are probably some here who would rather hit me with a brick than "Buy a Buysse Brick" but I implore each and every one of you to dig into your pocket and buy a brick (beginning at just $135) if you agree with any of the following reasons to do so: 1) the softball team won a Championship in 2019 and considering their track record, that's an amazing accomplishment. During the incredible run I had the opportunity to talk to many of the players and coaches and I can tell you -- they were on a mission. They love each other and played as a team and left it all on the field. They defined college sports the way it should be and we should be very proud of them. 2) as always the softball team carries itself proudly in the classroom and off the field 3) this is the first "test case" of selling bricks as an Athletic Fundraiser to help elevate the entire Athletic Department. After this effort goes well, there will be more elaborate projects upcoming related to Calihan Hall and the Soccer Field. So we need to make this one a success and set an example that we can do this successfully!! 4) even if softball isn't your sport, this is a way to immortalize your family, or someone who means something to you, or just cement your legacy as part of the Titan Family 5) Mike McGill has done a TREMENDOUS job so far in this effort. Kudos to Mike and everyone on the Titan Club Board for getting this started
6) and finally, it doesn't matter what you think of me -- if you have fond memories of Roger and Millie Buysse, buy a brick (or two) PLEASE!!!!

A brick. Solid. Lasting. A tangible reminder of support. All for just $135!
Seriously, this is an especially important time for those of us who still have jobs, and those with market investments (the stock markets, you'll know, have recovered all their losses of the late winter/early spring when the Corona Virus broke out; and gold is at record highs) to be especially generous both to private individuals (our waitresses and waiters, barbers and stylists, delivery men and women, etc.) and to the institutions we support. Donate now when it can matter most. Add that to Tom's list of reasons above.

The most recent report I saw indicated $2,570 in contributions thus far toward this fundraising endeavor. If you’re able, please consider buying a brick.
