I took note of a social media post that said 2024 recruit, Deuce Jones, rated a four star recruit by ESPN, had narrowed his college choices to Fairfield, Florida International, Temple and Detroit M@#rcy. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards, Deuce responded to the post and said it was Duquesne, not DM, who had made his final four. Something apparently got misinterpreted as that news made the rounds. Oh, well. Back to waiting for news. The logos:

First of all, Vowels (nor Athletics) didn't pay for the new Detroit Mercy logo. That is University-wide. Athletics continues to use the (modified) shield logo that dates back a long time.
Second, that italicized Old English D is not the current Atletics logo. Their new (2019) sports logo is a "modern gothic" D.

The shield logo is used, but the logo that resembles Duquesne is on every page of the DetroitTitans.com website. It was also the backdrop for all the interviews taking place during Media Day.

One last time, Sam.
The UDM logo you don't like is the University's logo. It's used everywhere, including Athletics. The shield logo is an additional one used for the most part by Athletics.
You said "Vowels paid $400,00 to a company in Pittsburgh to create that logo. Duquesne should sue UDM for copyright infringement." Your complaint that Vowels (Athletics) paid for it is incorrect. Vowels (Athletics) didn't. And our logo predates Duquesne's look-alike.
And Duquesne doesn't even use their look-alike logo anymore. They have a new University logo (an old English D in a rectangle) and a new Athletics logo (a stylized gothic modern "D").

The comment you are attributing to me wasn't something I said. It was RBJ. I know you struggle on the board sometimes, but you should at least be able to read the name of who posted a comment if you are going to respond to it. Maybe use that "quote" feature sometimes. Keep that sarcastic, nasty attitude to yourself.

I tired of the quote feature because it would copy those two giant images over and over.

By the way, early signing period starts this Wednesday, November 8. I don't anticipate the Titans signing anybody. Does anyone think or know differently?

Good news on the recruiting front as high school big man Michael Oaks commits. Go Titans!
Special thanks to a familiar, knowledgeable scout for bringing this to my attention.

ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=6077This is the kind of big kid we used to recruit/should be recruiting. Only 3 college offers but only a coach who wants to build for the future makes this kind of move. I will wait until the end of the season before I make any comments on what I think should be the coaching unit's future. In the end it's all about winning. MD knows that, and it's on him and his staff to figure this thing out fast. Starting Wed against OU, hopefully. If I felt any comfort that guys who want to win here (and have remaining eligibility) want to come back next year and build on this year, the losing would become easier to stomache. But the way the Portal is and the huge losses we had from last year, what reason is there to believe we'll have guys who want to come back who we want to see back? Having said that, I love Tank and what he gives us every game now.

So now I’m wondering where or foreign player went? Did this one go to Charlotte also!
