Each August, Titan fans and supporters typically receive an annual CAL Club brochure with various suggested giving levels for the upcoming season. This year the school decided to go in a different direction and has developed a more extensive brochure that highlights areas of the various teams and happenings inside athletics. Its format is modeled after the Spiritus publication that Alumni Relations sends out periodically. It is being called the “Titan Playbook,” and if everything went right it should have been mailed out sometime earlier today. I saw an advance copy of some of the material that will be included in this brochure and it provides specific details regarding several capital improvement projects on the drawing board and other initiatives (with their price tags) to upgrade MBB and other sports..

My “Playbook” arrived in today’s mail. It did not have the detailed info on the Calihan Hall upgrades I was expecting, but does provide lots of information on each of the sports teams sponsored by the University.

I have not received mine yet; but I live out of town and it takes awhile for the pony to get here with the mail. I understand that the school has begun catching up on some deferred maintenance by painting some parts of the fan areas in the arena and replacing missing and damaged ceiling tiles - especially those in the public stairwells and hallways. This is expected to be completed before Thanksgiving. It's a start. There's lots more to do. Also, I understand that the Road to a Championship initiative has received some significant initial pledges to jumpstart it. So, there is some positive momentum percolating for a change.
