OU wins in OT. CSU-PFW in 3rd OT after Al Eichelberger makes a 3 point shot with 4 seconds left. That was a silly bank 3 to make, alas it counts as much as the unbanked 3

Unbelievable, 3 games go to OT and more, and ours decided on a last second tip in. I thought we would never get past WSU if we kept advancing, and they blow a big lead to lose at home to Milwaukee who we beat twice??!! It makes our loss that much more painful.

This gut punch feeling reminds me of the 2013 Wright State buzzer beater. At least I didn’t have a long, snowy drive home tonight.

Tonight's game should be more of a measuring stick for the program (vs 3 consecutive games against a weak and shorthanded Robert Morris team). I'm eager to see what our guys have in an elimination game, on the road, with some pressure, vs a team that expects to beat us. If we hit the boards hard, our shooting is decent, and we play as a TEAM, I'd expect us to win by 5 to 8 points. GO TITANS! Wow, was I wrong. What a disappointing end to our season - we had it won and we let it slip away with some questionable game management and the lack of rebounding at the end. In a season with high hopes, it was fun to finally be competitive, but I still feel like we underachieved in the Conference tourney. Well on to another long offseason - hopefully the core players can be convinced to stay and we can continue to add more talent to BUILD a program

What we didn't do was hit the boards, and it cost us the game by a point. Very tough loss in a game we had ample chances to win. Like, I sense, you, I'm not ready to get on the "oh, thanks boys, what a grand and glorious season" bandwagon. After 4 years of being really horrible, we were respectable this year, and that was really fun. The team played very well over the last 60% of the season, and that is very encouraging going forward. But in the end, we let another big chance go by. My theory of sports dynasties is that they seize chances when they are presented. They snatch a title when they are probably not the best team in the league; they win titles when they are. With Wright State cleared out, we could be sitting two wins away from an NCAA bid, games against teams we recently beat. In the end, we finished 12-10, 3rd in the league standings, with a NET placing us just barely in the top 50% nationally. Again, after the last 4 years--we could even say the last 7--I won't complain about that. We seem pointed the right direction. But the end was still a disappointment. We have to build off that--have the guys ready to go next year with the attitude "that's not going to happen again." I suspect the players and coaches feel that way too, only more so. I'm sure they're re-running many moments from last night's game, thinking "I shoulda" or "we shoulda" or "if only"... I'll have more thoughts in another thread.

Appreciate the plug, you guys! A little backstory, if you care.. We recognized that there wasn't an organized online forum for NKU fans late in the 2016-17 season. At that point, you weren't going to use message boards if you weren't a hard core superfan, so I (Kyle Craven) teamed up with Chris Boggs and we created a fan page on Facebook for NKU fans. Over the next 3 seasons, we grew it to 3500 members. We've both since moved on from the group, but I've branched off the last 3 years and expanded Norse Report. We're on Facebook, SUPER ACTIVE on Twitter, have a website and own the domain (www.norsereport.com) and yes - as of this year have created our free newsletter - which the commish shared (thank you!) Looking forward to engaging with you guys in any way possible! (i saw a couple of subs come from this forum so that's what caused me to come and say hey!) Have a good one - and stop recruiting so well, please. -Kyle
