Chris Webber was a guest on the "All The Smoke" podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. He briefly discusses his UofD visit @ 27:20. I thought my "oldhead" titan fans might find it interesting.

I hate to be a lazy pest, but it lasts two hours! Can you indicate a time frame when he spoke about his visit?

That's a pretty funny story he says about his Titan visit. And he does repeatedly call us "U of D", just sayin'...

Here's the thing that bugs me: Juwan gets all the credit (and rightly so) for bringing the Fab 5 together and he's not even from here. If, instead, CWeb (very unlikely) or Jalen (much more likely) steps up instead and announces early that he's going to U-D and does a big "I'm going to U-D and you need to also" push, we've got a Fab 5 and we're the team going to consecutive Championship Games and everyone who's good enough to play in the NBA goes on to play in the NBA just as they did from U-M. Except when all is said and done, Jalen and CWeb and whichever local guys they persuaded (Juwan, King and Jackson would probably not have come but other great local players would have instead) could have spent the rest of their lives saying "look at the special thing we came together to accomplish at U-D."
It's hoops, not football. It doesn't take a deep offensive line and all kinds of quality backups (as the replacements who are inevitably going to have to step up when injuries bring starters down) to win. It only takes a small core of star players in hoops, some contributing role players, a good coach and a Program that supports them.We have a good coach. We have our new Capital Campaign underway. The fans would return if we get a new "Fab Five" (or whatever). I'm tired of waiting for this logical conclusion. I'm tired of guys like CWeb who give us a "courtesy" visit instead of actually considering us as a real option.
