From Detroit News:
“During Monday’s ‘Inside Michigan Basketball’ radio show, Howard hinted at the possibility of adding the most historic arena in college basketball to the list next season and noted the team is in discussions with Penn State to have a 2023-24 game played at the Palestra in Philadelphia.”
Would love to see the Titans play a game at the Palestra someday. Perhaps they could be on the undercard as part of a doubleheader taking on St. Joe’s, or LaSalle.

The storied old Palestra is a "zoo", a tough place for visiting teams.

The suggestion by, I assume, Juwan Howard, rogobob, is a copycat idea. MSU played a game vs Penn State at the Palestra within the past 3 seasons, I think even more recent.
As far as U of D goes, we've played there in the distant past. I don't know how many times but one game , in particular, made quite an impression upon the University of Pennsylvania, which owns the building. Not surprisingly, it was the '68 - '69 season when Spencer Haywood was a Titan. In the Palestra hallway, there is a lengthy montage of the greatest performances in the building's history. Among I think 50 which are depicted, Haywood's 41 points and 32 rebounds vs No. 2 LaSalle that year is considered the second greatest performance by a player in Palestra history. I've seen it (the montage).

For some reason I thought the Palestra was owned by Temple, they played all their home games there, back when.

All of the Big 5 schools, Villanova, Temple, LaSalle, St Joes and Penn, played most of their home games at the Palestra through the 1960s and 70s.

For some reason I thought the Palestra was owned by Temple, they played all their home games there, back when. Temple has its own on-campus arena now. So does Villanova, a big upgrade from its old on-campus crackerbox. The Owls, and the other three non-Penn schools, play most of their games at their own arenas.
