The Pistons are supporting the renovation of "The Saint", the basketball gym at the former St. Cecilia parish on the West Side. Earl Cureton is playing a prominent role, and in this clip you'll see various local basketball figures talking about the project. I wish the Titans had some sort of involvement in this. It would seem to be a natural endeavor in which the University could be involved. In any case, I look forward to the eventual realization of the big plans they have for the place. www.fox2detroit.com/video/1290626

Our guys used to regularly be playing in those pick up leagues in the summer time - but then again we have so few local players any more. The same with them playing in Moneyball league up in Lansing.
St Cecilias has some kind of tie with the Pistons overall, they are featured in the Pistons 3rd (or 4th) alternate jerseys. I think a ton of this stems from Arn Tellem to be honest, he seems to really care about having the Pistons make an impact in the local community.

I may stand to be corrected on this, but wasn't Willie Green playing in the Pro-Am at St. Cecilia's when he blew out his knee the summer he was due for a sizeable contract from the 76ers?
