Was doing some research for athletics today and here’s an interesting compilation of stats I put together. He’s quietly having the best season of any Titan ever. Alright I had like 10 minutes so here’s a swing at some stuff that might help you First of all he is 0.2 blocks away from leading the team in every major category which would likely be the first person to do so ever. But here is the really interesting one. Because he missed 6 games (these would be crazier if he didn’t) He’s only got 496 right now about 200 from the 10th best season scoring wise in history (AD 21-22). Now technically not there yet but barring that he gets the 4 needed points and 9 free throws he’ll be the first player in program history to have 500 points, 100 fts made, 100 rebounds, 50 3s made, 30 stls, 5 blocks all in one season. These all could also rise still. I think there’s a real possibility he could come back and if that is the case Taylor should understand that him in uniform next season is 10x more impactful than any coaching change they can make. They just aren’t going to get like this going forward especially that are not undersized and got lucky from GCU’s incompetence to not play him much. Now he could just decide to play pro and this conversation would be irrelevant but it’s one worth evaluating Stone could make six figures easily overseas. Or he could get a nice NIL package at another school.

Alex, while Stone might be dominant in leading every category (on an admittedly weak team), I don't think you can say Stone is having a better season than Dave DeBusschere, Bill Ebben or Spencer Haywood. None of Stone's numbers will crack any top ten for a season.

That’s obvious though lol I was just saying he’s the first to do all of those things in a vague sense but also definitely has to do with the record. Missed 6 games though

If this is the case that he can get a ton of money set the kid up with an NIL collective of some sort and take care of him to stay another year. Unless he is set on a number that we couldn’t give him, I don’t think it’s absurd to throw money at a player rather than spend 500 k for someone to not be an employee.

Totally agree with your comment on Stone playing overseas or receiving a excellent NIL package at another school. I'll be very surprised if he returns to UDM next season.
From my perspective; there are six players on our current roster that new coaching staff should consider for the 2024-25 season;
Tankersley Tchikou Kuac Hurst Manciel Oaks

So far, Stone be cold and not very sublime in the first half at YSU.

So far, Stone be cold and not very sublime in the first half at YSU. Slow starts have unfortunately been a consistent feature of Stone's play this year.

Willy Isiani is listed as getting a master's degree. Glad he kept working on his education. He was honor roll all four years in earning his bachelor's degree.

I was holding out hope that we could retain him with some NIL $ and positives from the new staff!

I was holding out hope that we could retain him with some NIL $ and positives from the new staff! Why would you think that after he and Tankersley missed all those team meetings and individual workouts scheduled by Monty in April? I'm glad that he graduated. That was a great accomplishment for him. Since college hoops is becoming more and more a business, if I were the GM at U of D and looking to rebuild, I would not make Jayden the centerpiece of my first team. In games for us in which he played 20 minutes or more, we had a total of 3 wins, Rochester & Ohio U in 2022, then IUPUI in 2024. Jayden is an extremely gifted player athletically, but if I were hoping to retain any of the 3 guys who entered the portal last March, it would have been Ryan and Tankersley. At WVU, he has a chance to be one of the supporting cast for another coach's son.
