...we have the opportunity to go big time and join the A-10, since Umass is leaving. Open your wallets. I've done my part and bought several PowerBall tickets. Or we could drop to DIII. It's all good...

I would think to get this coach the school had to make some type of $ commitment so maybe the A-10 isn't so far fetched..........

I heard yesterday that one of the items on the current "to do" list for facility improvements is getting three non-functional drinking fountains at Calihan Hall working again. I read that we are likely paying Montgomery somewhere in the neighborhood of $500K to $600K a year in salary and that his budget for assistants will be top-3 in the Horizon. It is my understanding that we are also paying Davis something on the remaining year of his contract. We were 1-31 last year and drew maybe 500 fans a game. I doubt we will be accepting an invitation to the east coast situated A-10 anytime soon.

Rogo while I agree with your assessment and A10 is probably far down the list, a a conference it would be good to jump to if we got stronger again because it includes Dayton, Duquesne, Loyola, and SLU so it it also has a Midwest preference. Regardless, we are years away from make that a reality.

It's not enough for US to want to join THEM. We have to do something to make THEM want US.

At this point they, the A10, would add Oakland before us, due to the strength of all of OU's sports and their relative domination of the league each year with the McCafferty trophy (where we annually finish dead last by a mile).

The Titans aren't going to D3, at least not anytime soon, and they are closer to going D3 than they are being invited into the A10. For now, maybe we should focus on getting back to the rarified air of consistently finishing over .500 and drawing four figure crowds.

College basketball is a big-time business, it seems like the UDM has passed on or missed miss this growth" period. I read somewhere that Izzo and maybe Matt Ishbia from UNW may have had some say in the hiring. If Matt Ishbia is somehow is involved, even on a minor scale, maybe the school should try to get him and his company involved in growing the program, perhaps naming rights, using the money to upgrade the facility, perhaps money to buy into the A-10. If anyone watched the NIT, Hinkle is a great old facility, maybe nearing 100 years old, money can make our house grand again, and with NIL money this school can be back up and running again. MD's 1-31 season may be a blessing for MM, he can only go up. I like the idea he will look for local players who need a second chance and to bring them home.

It would be great if we could get United Wholesale Mortgage involved with Titan athletics. I know they have a strolling ad on the OU marque/press row.
