Thanks for sharing, good insights on the young man.
The article does have a paragraph that leads off…
“So when Montgomery was hired to be Mercy's new head coach in April”

Thanks for sharing, good insights on the young man. The article does have a paragraph that leads off… “So when Montgomery was hired to be Mercy's new head coach in April” And "what might set him apart from the rest at Mercy". And the band played on.

I figured those two references in the article would generate more response than the actual substance of the report.

I figured those two references in the article would generate more response than the actual substance of the report. haha its fair, and I really tried to not reply with pointing that out. BUT...I will say the writer of the article does follow the preps beat in the western suburbs so he's generating 2-3 articles per week on various high school sports goings on. Our name SHOULDNT be a big mystery or unknown to him, ideally.

I figured those two references in the article would generate more response than the actual substance of the report. It was actually an interesting piece with some good insight. I didn't mean to overlook that. Thank you for posting it.

You gotta admit though, it would be nice to live in a world where we could have our cake and eat it too once in a while. By that I naturally mean where we could read an in depth article about one of our recruits that also references his chosen university correctly.
I realize it's alot to ask but...
Oh well, off to read some stories about Michigan University or the College of Central Michigan. 😉

Nice article. It's a shame the focus immediately becomes the name "Mercy." But this can be fixed in a day--it's just up to the trustees, perhaps President Taylor.
The Titans here are like the one kid in every teen horror movie who keeps doing the same stupid thing, even as the other characters tell him its a bad idea, and everyone in the audience wants to haul off and punch the dummy. The Titans are the kid who is convinced that he can train the monster that has already killed hundreds of people. The Titans are the kid who insist (as one commercial had it) the ideal place to hide from the beserk serial killer is behind the chain saws. The Titans are the kid who is convinced that deep down, Hannibal Lecter is really a good guy and it is perfectly fine to leave your 2 year old kid brother alone in his care.
Every remaining Titan fan is begging the university to drop the "Mercy" business. Every high school recruit, even the ones who come, is thinking "if only the place weren't called 'Mercy.'" Every sportswriter thinks the school administration is simply stupid as heck. Every fan from a non-conference opponent makes the joke, if only to himself, "we're playing a hospital. Heh."
It is so frustratingly ridiculous, and everybody sees it except the nincompoops in administration at 9 & Livernois and a majority of the Board. If you can't or won't fix the things that are easily fixable, why should anyone have confidence the big things will be fixed?

TJ lands an NIL deal. First of many for him and other Titans.
