Per Instagram, 6-9 forward Ryan Kalambay has committed to the Titans. Currently at Fort Erie Academy in Ontario. I got the tip from a well respected Scout. http://instagram.com/p/C7SqPV0NLT3

Game and build reminds me of Paris Bass but he looks to be a plus in the class room!

I know Paris was also 6'9, but he played as a guard in high school. If Ryan can turn into even a Paris Bass Lite by the time November rolls around I think we will all be jumping for joy.

With any freshman, I think I'll give him time to establish his own style. He comes out of the UPlay Team in Toronto which has produced some good college players. His 6'10" older brother was a more highly sought after recruit until he had a medical heart problem.

When searching youtube for Ryan, I came across his brother and was hoping he was a younger brother that we were trying to recruit with adding Ryan. Ryan could very well be a later bloomer. He seems a bit raw, his jump shot does not look bad mechanically, so we will see. Some of these guys we have recruited in this class will tell us how good our player development program is under Montgomery.

Given that about half our scholarships will be held by freshmen, strong player development will be a necessity. At least this summer, unlike recent years, the players will be on campus and working together.

There has been a lot of players that came through the Titans. Bass could have been.

Good at going up with left and right hand underneath . I like what I see. Earlier in this discussion someone pointed out Ryan’s stats that he didn’t hit any 3’s. Yet in this short clip he hits 3 3’s. That why I pointed out his stats were flawed.
