Coach Davis had no energy or enthusiasm so he could not instill those qualities in the team.

Coach Davis had no energy or enthusiasm so he could not instill those qualities in the team. Davis had this sort of PR in his first two years here when he had a guy on staff to do it. That person left his job in about 2020-21 to pursue other opportunities. A comparable replacement was not hired. At that point, due to Covid concerns, budgets were very tight. And this occurred just after the APR penalties had set back the 2019 recruiting. Monty himself uses social media. Davis himself did not use social media. The big difference here is that Monty has recruited a bunch of first year players. Davis went for older, more experienced guys. That fact makes this summer's practice very important for developing the team. |

Glad to see the program putting out some content on social media. Really good to see the team together and getting to know each other.
I'm going to continue my tradition of not trashing our former coaches as I support our current coach.

Glad to see the program putting out some content on social media. Really good to see the team together and getting to know each other. I'm going to continue my tradition of not trashing our former coaches as I support our current coach. Sam, I'm trying real hard not too trash the previous regime, its really difficult, because coach Davis always talked about "effort" and it didnt seem like his staff put much "effort" towards recruiting the last few years. I guess I'm a glass half full type of guy and the constant negativity and excuses from coach Davis was draining. I spoke with him a few times and he seemed like a nice guy, so going forward I will do my best not to dis coach Davis and staff. |

I get it, RBJ, and truthfully, you weren't one of the posters I was thinking about when I made my comment. You're generally fair when talking about past coaches. It's always hard to judge the level of effort from a coaching staff, particularly in this program, which has done a poor job of public relations and fan engagement. I honestly can't say if Davis and his staff worked hard compared to the norm. I can say with certainty that two assistant coaches followed up on some Arizona JUCO prospects that I emailed the assistant coaches about this past season. The Davis era was a rough one, and I bet Davis himself would tell you that the failed meeting his own expectations here. I think you and I are both excited for a new beginning and looking forward to seeing what Coach Monty can do. Go Titans. |

If you’re going to have grace for the coach that just posted the worse season in our history, have grace for the players too. |

Monty has a huge challenge ahead of him to rebuild our team. As much as I'd like to, I can't change the past. And I liked all of the past 3 coaches. The most encouraging thing? We have all but one guy here this summer for practice starting this week. We're not waiting for a bunch of guys to trickle in for whatever reasons. We have 14 guys that need the summer to get to know each other. That's a big change from the last two summers. So, I'm not going to dwell upon the past. I am looking to the future and the chance for us to surprise in a positive way. It's a new start for us all. Let's make the most of this chance.
