Our old foe from Milwaukee (& Tennessee) has been hired as head coach by Auburn. One of my least favorite coaches - well I guess time makes people forget mistakes (or NCAA violations) of the past.

TJ, Bruce Pearl might be up to his old tricks at Auburn.
Pearl's show cause penalty, which prevented him from doing any recruiting or having any contact with recruits, expired a couple of weeks ago. Less than forty eight hours later, three class of 2015 players had committed to Auburn. Two are ESPN Top 100 recruits. The other is considered the top JUCO shooting guard in the country. Now, perhaps he is such a charmer that Pearl got commitments from these guys in his very first conversations with them, or maybe he already had contact with them. Who knows? Given his history, it's not unreasonable to expect there was some under the table communication going on.
The JUCO kid had a visit schedule with Cincy, but blew that off to commit to Pearl.
Since then, Pearl got a verbal commitment from Travon Reed, a four star center in the class of 2014 who originally signed with Maryland. Reed got kicked out of Maryland in August after being arrested and charged with theft and assault. Pearl scooped him up. Then a few days after that, Auburn got a commitment from another four star player, a guard from California.
It's worth noting that the the Tigers are coming off a four year stretch where they won 48 games and lost 75.
Going to be an interesting time at Auburn.

Revisiting this thread from a few years ago, it is interesting to note Pearl's immediate success with landing recruits in light of the FBI investigation in which Auburn was mentioned prominently. While members of the basketball media were raving about the redemption of Bruce Pearl this season, relatively few mentioned that his assistant coach Chuck Person is awaiting sentencing on federal charges related to paying players to attend Auburn.

I was surprised Pearl was able to get another job in basketball after the Deon Thomas fiasco.
