For a big game we need to jump on the promo thing, talk radio, Bennie interview, 2 for's, HS coach night, Detroit vs Miss State T shits, free parking, $1 hot dog all night. We did nothing for that game but list them in the schedule. We didn't even get much of a story in the papers, I bet if you check with sports fans in the area most didn't even know we played them.

I agree, APM. We did that for the St. John's game and had a good turnout. We should have been hyping the Miss State game at the same time. In fact, I think we need to improve our marketing with things like that for every game.
Still, I think that game illustrates the point that there aren't a bunch of hidden fans and media members who are going to jump on the Titans bandwagon if we just start playing teams with bigger profiles.

Columbus's minor league baseball team started that 20 years ago, and it was an incredibly successful promo. The college kids and twenty-something groups of guys would go, dads would take their kids (the game, and dinner essentially free). Catchy, memorable. Then you'd get follow up stories in the paper on how many hot dogs were eaten. Many people introduced to the team by "dime a dog night." I don't know, maybe that won't work - times and places differ. But we really need some out of the box thinking. I think that our promo people do a pretty solid job of covering the basics and presenting professionally, but there's not much out of the box creativity. It's sort of like eating a good chain restaurant. "How was it?" "It was good." As opposed to eating at an individual restaurant with a creative chef - "How was it?" "It was to die for. I had this scallop dish, and I've never had anything like it... etc etc."

Our Facebook presence is virtually zero. How difficult is it to run a Facebook page and take some pics at every basketball game and post them?

20 years ago a dime was worth a dollar.

20 years ago a dime was worth a dollar. Actually, it was worth about a 16 cents today. But it's still "Dime a Dog Night." It just gets more valuable with age!

some throw away T-Shirt that you can give to the kids, a funky thing, not for the "big guys", some like the "war of the leagues", or " I was there", or a Ray Jr number, something, kids wear anything free
