Another article from CBSSports claiming that there is a sexual assault allegation and a restraining order granted against LeBlanc and two other Georgetown players, but there is no evidence that Akinjo is involved. The two other players named in the article are two reserves, Alexander and Gardner. Link to article.

Two more Georgetown players are entering the transfer portal, which will hopefully bring this messy situation to an end. Gardner and Alexander were both named in complaints filed by female students at Georgetown. Gardner made a statement announcing his transfer and thanked the coaching staff and the Georgetown community for supporting him. Alexander said on social media that the University did NOT support him and stated that his character had been defamed. It's worth noting that Alexander came to Georgetown after a year at JUCO. He was kicked off the team at LSU as a freshman. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/12/13/myron-gardner-becomes-third-georgetown-basketball-player-transfer-two-weeks/

Jon Rothstein talking up the Big East on Twitter: "The Big East will enter tonight's conference openers with a combined record of 101-25. Nine teams received votes in this week's AP Top 25 poll. Best league in the sport."

With their win at Villanova on Saturday, Providence recorded their fifth win against a ranked team...in February alone. Getting hot at the right time.

Syracuse transfer Brycen Goodine committed to Providence. Goodine was ranked #77 in the class of 2019 in the ESPN 100. He didn't play much at Syracuse as a freshman; he was behind Coach Boeheim's kid, who is a pretty good player. Goodine is from Providence, so it is a homecoming for him.

Final Big East Standings, with a three way tie for first.
Creighton Villanova Seton Hall
Providence Butler Marquette Xavier St. John's Georgetown DePaul
Many people expect DePaul to fire their head coach after another last place finish, especially one that started with such promise. Some fans at Marquette aren't happy with Wojo, but I have heard no indication that he is in trouble, despite another late season fade. Creighton deserves a lot of credit for having such success in the Big East after moving from the MVC. Georgetown probably never should have fired John Thompson III. Nova is Nova, one of the top programs in the nation.

With the season ending so abruptly, I kinda lost track of where everything stood.

It's my favorite sport and I love the post season, even the minor tournaments.

Early in the Big East season, there was a surprising number of fans on social media calling for the firing of Providence head coach Ed Cooley. The Friars got off to a rough start, losing an early game to a bad Northwestern team, and dropping three straight in the non conference to mid major teams Penn, Long Beach State, and Charleston. Then they got crushed by an average Florida team. There was a lot of chatter on Twitter and talk radio about Cooley's time being up, despite the fact that he only had one losing season at PC (his first), and had five NCAA tournaments and two NIT appearances.
The Friars bounced back with a 22 point win over Texas, and hit conference play running, winning three straight games. They stayed on track the rest of the season, finishing the season at 19-12, 12-5, a game behind the first place trio, and solidly in the NCAA field according to the experts. I think Cooley is the perfect fit at Providence. I think the Friars would be making a big mistake in letting him go.

I agree. Cooley is a quality coach and Providence should hang onto him as long as possible. Fans were absolutely jumping the gun early in the season. I'd suggest he'd need to put up multiple losing seasons in a row before hitting the hot seat.

Butler added South Carolina guard Jair Bolden as a grad transfer. Bolden averaged 9 ppg and hit 41% of his three point attempts this past season.

Former Titan recruit, former Ypisilanti Lincoln Railspitter, former Missouri Tiger Tray Jackson is transferring to Seton Hall.
Jackson was ranked in the top 100 as a high school senior, but played infrequently at Mizzou last season.

Couple of commitments in the class of 2020 for the Big East:
Georgetown added Collin Holloway, a guard out of Louisiana.
Bitter Hoya rival Syracuse...wait, 'Cuse is in the ACC now. Never mind.

Top 100 four star recruit Ryan Nembhard verbally committed to Creighton for the class of 2021. Nembhard had multiple high major offers. It's worth noting that Ryan's brother Andrew has entered the transfer portal and is leaving Florida. Andrew averaged 11ppg for the Gators last year and entered his name in the NBA draft before withdrawing. He was a five star recruit in high school. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/ryan-nembhard-227813
