On the Basketball Travelers Scheduling Board, Pete Kahler has been looking for games. Here's a post of June 21:
"Detroit Mercy still has a couple games to get but we NEED to start at home for one of them. We are part of a new staff and lost 3 out of 4 of our leading scorers. Ideal dates would be 11/14 and 12/3. Please call Pete Kahler with interest."
Translated: "Hey, we're gonna suck--come play us, pick up a road win!"
In an earlier post, Kahler indicated we wanted Nov. 14 and Dec. 3. That November 14 date is kind of interesting--that's the Monday after opening weekend. I assume we'll have a game for Friday or Saturday of that weekend. December 3 is a Saturday.
Dayton is looking to buy a guarantee game on 12/3. Of course, we're seeking home and homes, but frankly, a guarantee at Dayton wouldn't be all that bad--short trip, old rival for we old folks. I'll bet Dayton pays pretty well. So in one respect I hate to see us play Dayton for cash when my memory says we should be playing them home and home, if not in conference, but we are where we are.
Boston U. wants to start a H&H on the road on November 14. Since they posted that notice 1 day before Pete's notice above, I wouldn't be totally shocked if that worked out. That would get us to Boston for Malik Eichler's sophomore season. OTOH, maybe if we were interested Pete would have picked up the phone before posting his game wanted message the next day.

Look for Titans to play at New Hampshire, Nov. 23, as part of pre-season NIT. Don't bet the house on it, though.

According to BA this morning, the non conference schedule is complete and once all the paperwork is done, it will be released. On a related note, I noticed we are no longer listed as one of the teams playing in the Las Vegas Invitational (The Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic returns to the Orleans Arena December 22-23, 2016! Participating teams include USC, Wyoming, Depaul, Missouri St., SEMO, Troy University, Chicago St. and Cornell). www.orleansarena.com/eventsIn addition, the link below lists us as playing EMU, W. Kentucky & IPFW at home, plus New Hampshire, Toledo, Bowling Green, Illinois and Florida St on the road (plus the Las Vegas Invitational which is now incorrect) docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bNdcc5YHCK3Lgu4b89Az-0_IC9wvHYid7Qn5oS5CLwc/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=645960143

www.detroittitans.com/news/2016/8/2/mens-basketball-seven-home-games-featured-in-detroitmbb-non-conference-schedule.aspxNon-conference Schedule is out. At first glance I don't much like it. Home games include exhibitions w/ Wayne State and Ferris State. Regulars season opens with Adrian, then 4 straight road games: East Tennessee, Illinois, Florida State and New Hampshire. We could easily be 1-4 by Thanksgiving. Yet there's not much upside-- if we were to upset Illinois and FSU it would be nice but not eye-popping, and ETSU and UNH strike me as games with much greater downside than upside. Manhattan follows at Calihan. I kinda like that game but I doubt casual fan cares at all. Then EMU, a nice home game. Neither game is a sure win, and neither has a high upside. The final 5 games include Toledo, Bowling Green, and Murray State on the road, and Western Kentucky and IPFW at home. We could lose all 5. Of course, we could win all 5, too, and a they'd be pretty solid wins. But again, nothing that would stand out. I doubt we'll do much better than .500; and it doesn't strike me as a schedule of much interest to casual fans; there is no real exciting upset opportunity. So I think it gets the Bacari era off to a rather bland start.

To me, the Women's non conference schedule is much more interesting: with Bradley, Kent St and George Mason plus local rivals EMU and WMU, and a high major (Minnesota), plus some filler (in my mind) ECU, Delaware St and a California based tourney But, so far the new coaching era has been extremely positive and I plan on watching as many games as I can possibly fit in to my personal schedule (I bet that turns into 3/4 of all televised/on line games). Even though I'm not expecting overwhelming success and would be pleasantly surprised by a .500 season, these guys have my support and I'm looking forward to the start of practice

I'm sure we'll talk about it more as the season gets closer, but are you guys thinking that this Titan team is a .500 team at best? Kind of getting that feeling from comments on this board and the other one.

Kind of getting that feeling from comments on this board and the other one. Looking at the roster, I think we'll be about .500. If Corey Allen comes in and gives us 12 points a game, and we can get NJ senior season numbers from Jones we can win 18 games. If Jones gives us Solanke type numbers, and Allen turns out to be Thomas Dillard...this season could get real ugly, very quickly.

Per Jon Rothstein, we've got 40 days until the official start of college basketball season. I'm getting antsy.

Me too...still waiting for conference schedule so I can plan my annual trip to Detroit. Last year, I was able to catch two games with a three night stay over...Youngstown and Clevelane in early January. Might be difficult this year...my15 yr old daughter is a Level 10 gymnast and competes from December through April. I will need to coordinate her meets with Titan schedule. This year,s meets include trips to Florida, Ohio, Massachusetts and Atlantic City.

Unless I've been thrown for a loop, the Titans will close out the regular season with a road trip to Milwaukee and Green Bay.
We'll know for sure tomorrow when Horizon schedule released at 10.

Schedule is now complete on first page of this thread.
Our conference home games are 1 Monday 1 Tuesday 1 Thursday 3 Fridays 1 Saturday (December 31) 2 Sundays
We open with Northern Kentucky and Wright State at home. Gotta win those, because then comes the road at what should be a much improved UIC and the league favorites, Valpo and Oakland. Overall, 5 of the first 8 are on the road. If we can get through those first 8 in passable shape the schedule is favorable over the second half-- 6 of 10 at home, with the final 4 road games being Milwaukee, Cleveland State, and Youngstown State (probably 3 of the weaker teams) plus Green Bay. Milwaukee and Cleveland State will make up 4 of those final 10 games.

Each team in the Horizon gets nine home games.
On average, this is how it breaks down in terms of days of the week games are scheduled:
.4 Monday .7 Tuesday .0 Wednesday 2.0 Thursday 2.0 Friday 2.3 Saturday 1.6 Sunday
Looking at the data, the Thursday/Saturday swing is most common, closely followed by Friday/Sunday. UDM's schedule is tilted to the Friday/Sunday swing.
