This week Alec Peter and Cameron Morse share POW.
"For the week, Peters averaged 27.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in two Valparaiso wins. He shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field and 93.3 percent (14-of-15) from the foul line."
"Morse garnered his first Horizon League Player of the Week honor of his career after averaging 29.3 points per game in YSU’s three contests last week. Morse began the week with 23 points as the Penguins won on a last second tip-in at Oakland, 100-98. After scoring 18 points versus Milwaukee on Thursday, Morse exploded for 44 points on Saturday as YSU handed Green Bay its first League loss"
Dikembe Dixon won his 4th FOW: Averaged "25.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in UIC’s two games last week. He matched his career-high with 28 points at Oakland on Sunday. On Friday, he scored 22 points in the Flames loss at Detroit. He added 13 rebounds and four steals for the week."

Drew McDonald of NKU was freshman of the week, while Vashil Fernandez of Valpo was Player of the Week.
The Titans nominated Bass as Player of the Week. Does anybody think he had a better game on Saturday than Jaleel Hogan?

Does anybody think he had a better game on Saturday than Jaleel Hogan? Bass: 9-19, 2-5 FT, 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks, three turnovers, one steal, four fouls. Hogan: 8-16, 4-4 free throws, 20 points, eight rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, three turnovers, five fouls. I could see a vote for either guy.

Stat line aside, I can't see how anyone who watched the game thought Bass had a better game than Hogan.

That was a typo. I knew Hogan had only one turnover. Thanks for the fix.
Any theories on why Paris was nominated instead of Hogan?

A. They thought Paris was better? B. They thought Paris was more likely to win (perhaps because key raw numbers-blocks and assists- were better; C. They believe promoting Paris is best way to promote Titans.
Seems to me it was a good opportunity to show appreciation for someone else.

UIC's Dikembe Dixson won Freshman of the Week for the 6th time, while Northern Kentucky's Cole Murray was Player of the Week, largely on the basis of his annihilation of our Titans.

The Horizon League muffed it this week, naming Kahlil Felder player of the week for the 5th time this year. Not that Kahlil didn't have a good week--he always has good weeks. The Golden Grizzlies played 3 games in the week, won all three, and K had 10 or more assists in all three. OTOH, he "only" had 54 points on the week, or 18 per game, well below his season average, to go with his impressive 35 assists. Felder shot just 41.6% from the floor, and 1-8 from 3 points. OU's wins were over Northern Kentucky, Cleveland State, and Youngstown, not exactly murderer's row.
Giving Felder the recognition isn't the greatest injustice in the world, but clearly the player of the week was Cleveland State's Demonte Flannigan, who in two games averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks, making 20 of 39 shots. Demonte's game against Detroit was virtually flawless - he took charging calls, altered shots, deflected passes, and a host of things that don't show up in the stat box, where his line was pretty impressive--25 points, 12 rebounds, 11 of 15 from the floor. Also having a big week was YSU's Cameron Morse, who averaged 27 points in a pair of games, shooting 53% from the floor and 60% from three.
Of course, OU won. CSU and YSU, where there is little supporting cast, each lost both their games. But does that really overcome superior performance? Like I say, not the world's greatest injustice, but even if you don't think Morse and Flannigan had better weeks than K (though they did), maybe its a good chance to spread the wealth a little bit.
