I'm in the house for the semis at the JLA . Green Bay up on Valparaiso 35-32 at the half. Phoenix trailed by eight early but put on a press that Valparaiso struggled to handle.
Enthusiastic crowd on hand.

99-92 is the final score. Green Bay advances to the Finals. Valparaiso struggled most of the second half before a wild finish sent the game to overtime. The Crusaders made several poor plays down the stretch in the extra session.

Wright State held Oakland's high powered offense in check the entire game and came away with the victory. Great win for Wright State and a crushing defeat for the Grizzlies.
Look for their to be some discussion about the double buy provision.

Announced attendance for the night was 6,557. That brought the official three day total to 16,596.
From my in person observation, the Valparaiso folks had a large contingent, very vocal and involved. Not sure how many of them will be hanging around for the Finals, but I hope a good number decide to stay around and enjoy the City and watch the Finals. Green Bay's contingent was not as large, but we could see an increase in that number if more Phoenix fans decide to make the trip tomorrow to see them take on Wright State. The Raider's fans were small in number but, hopefully some of their fans will make the trip North.
The crowd was very pro-Oakland for the nightcap, as expected, and it felt like a home game for the Grizzlies. That was a gutty win for the WSU.
I thought it was a very good atmosphere and I think this first HL tourney in Detroit has been a promising debut. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game.

Pretty good crowd on hand. Green Bay playing well, pushing tempo, and up 12 at the half.

Announced attendance for tonight was about 4500 (I don't remember the exact number) and from the eye test that looked like it wasn't far off. I was pleased that the crowed was as big as it was, given the fact that the two local schools were out. Some Wright State fans must have made the trek today.
All in all, I thought it was a good debut for Motor City Madness, despite the fact that neither Detroit or Oakland made the final. Total tournament attendance was announced at over 20,000. Per the coaches comments and all appearances, it appeared to be a well run operation.
Final score, Green Bay 78, Wright State 69. The Phoenix put all five starters in double figures. The Raiders actually played like they were still tired from the previous night.
