Every time I see a new post in the IUPUI thread I hope it's an announcement that IUPUI is dropping to D-2 and leaving the HL.

IUPUI is willing to play shorthanded Good for them. I think Crenshaw is as likely to succeed there as anyone.

In the portal: KJ Pruitt. True freshman, started the seasons first 10 gams before season-ending injury. Averaged 5 points, 3 rebounds. Mike DePersia, point guard. Started 44 games over 3 years, averaging 4.4 points and 3.3. assists. Definitely a serviceable, mid-major back-up point guard. Nathan McClure, 6-4 guard, started 26 games, averaging 6.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg. Bobby Harvey, played 9 games, 1 start before season-ending injury. Averaged 4.2 ppg. Jonah Carrasco, 6-9 forward, started 16 games, averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds. Missed the last month of the season with injury.
Previously announced was Azariah Seay, 6-4 guard left team for portal in early February. Averaged 6.4 points in 17 games, 4 starts. Will be looking for his 3rd school.

I find myself hoping that IUPUI is able to field a better team in 2022-23 (except when they play U-D). I found myself feeling bad for them as they became a punch line among college basketball observers. Their players continued to play hard and their staff stayed engaged the entire time. I never saw them mail in a game.
With their roster being decimated by transfers (and they only had five scholarship players at the end of the season anyway) my thought was that they should hit the JUCO field hard, to add some maturity and experience as they filled out the roster. So far, it looks like that it was they are doing. They have five JUCO players committed or signed for the class of 2022, and it looks like a decent crop.
Hasim Abdul Hakim: 6-7 forward. 13 points, 6 rebounds per game. Ranked #40 in the JUCO Recruiting Top 100. Kharye Cayne: 6-10 center. Two time Defensive Player of the Year for his JUCO region. Cooper Dewitt: 6-6 guard/forward. 14ppg, 40% from three, 85% free throws. Jlynn Counter: 6-3 guard. 16ppg, 39% from three, 75% free throws. Daylan Hamilton: 6-3 guard. Former Western Michigan Bronco, currently at Triton College. 10 ppg, shooting percentages of 44, 40, and 73.
Always hard to tell how JUCO players will perform at D1, but they all had solid production on good JUCO programs. You have to figure at least two or three will be able to contribute. And over the past week, the Jags made offers to an additional three JUCO players.
The Jag class also consists of two incoming freshman, Indianapolis brothers Armon and Ahmad Jarrard.
I don't expect much from IUPUI, but it looks like they will at least have a full roster to start the season.
