I don't see or hear anything suggesting the staff is planning on Bryon Ottrix next year. I honestly don't think the staff knows what they are planning. I'd say 3 grad transfers during the summer for AD's senior year and then basically the whole team with Coach Davis will be gone after that season - leaving us in complete rebuild mode

When I found out they were renting apartment's, it gave me the feeling they weren't in it for the long haul. Mike Davis Jr. did say that his dad advise him to never buy a house....because he had trouble selling his house in Bloomington and was paying 3 mortgages simultaneously. My optimistic side was hoping they would do well and Davis Jr. would succeed his dad.

Apparently Randle left Douglass and is playing in Florida at Downey Christian. Will he come play at Detroit Mercy University?π

With the boys hoops season now underway, Mick McCabe at Freep posted his Top 100 players (its behind paywall). It ranks the top 25 guys, then lists 26-100 alphabetically.
For guys that we have reported to offer at some point in time (from page 1 of this thread): Dante Foreman, Wayne β not in Top 100 Kwesi Henry, Detroit Loyola β not in Top 100 Javantae Randle, Detroit Douglas β ranked #21 Javier Whitaker, Hamtramck β ranked in 26-100 range Chansey Willis, King β ranked #20 (although McCabe lists him as a Junior, not as class of 2021)
Side note, 247 national rankings has 5 Michigan players in the national Top 250 Kobe Bufkin (Michigan), McCabe #2, #42 in 247 US ranking, #1 in 247 MI ranking Jaden Akins (MSU), he's off playing at Generic Prep Academy, #55 US, #2 MI Pierre Brooks (MSU), McCabe #1, #66 US, #3 MI Julian Roper (Northwestern), McCabe #5, #153 US, #4 MI Legend Geeter (Providence), McCabe #3, #247 US, #5 MI
Steve Bell / Bank Hoops used to have good info but he's fully behind a paywall now, I don't pay, so don't' have access to his comparable Top Players rankings.

Grad transfer who has already played 5 years (one 6-game medical redshirt year). He's a solid player, but why would we want a 6-3 grad transfer guard? a. Coach thinks Fraser or Johnson may leave b. Coach is unhappy with play of Fraser or Johnson c. What the heck, it's a marginal improvement (maybe) over Fraser or Johnson, and we've get the extra scholarships next year, and so we've got room to take him on and try to add another big and someone else.

Note he was in the SWAC when Coach was at Texas Southern, so Coach would have seen him there. In the 2018 SWAC tournament Gee, playing for Alabama State, had 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists against Texas Southern, plus a steal and a block. In two regular season games against Texas Southern he totaled 35 points and 12 rebounds. So you can see why Coach might remember him.

Plus, he's from Houston. And we didn't see Pink in that photo posted by hsscout1.
Remember what Davis said at the last two virtual roundball events. He wants a veteran point guard, a wing shooter, and a post player. Even if Pink remains on scholarship, we can take up to 4 new players if all of our veteran return. And the transfer portal will be very important to this year's recruiting.

Very familiar with this young man. He signed with Memphis and Tubby Smith out of high school, but de-committed when Smith was fired. I had a few conversations with one of the Memphis assistants about him over the past couple of years. Really good player who will definitely be in high major demand.
