Street and Smith picks the HL this way: NKU Oakland UIC YSU Milwaukee Cleveland State Wright State Green Bay Detroit IUPUI Top Player: Dikembe Dixson, UIC Top Newcomer: Vance Johnson, Milwaukee Top Homecourt: NKU The narrative for Detroit mentions that they lost Hogan to UAB, so they published before the latest news. However, I haven't heard for sure if Hogan is eligible this season. I know he's on the roster, but the Titans usually list players on the roster even if they aren't active, such as transfers and academic red shirts. Be glad to get some certainty on the Hogan status. Based on one of Hogan's recent tweets and the congratulations he's received, I'm under the impression that he's eligible Grateful to have you guys behind me! It's going to be a special year!

Thanks, Scout. That would seem to indicate that he expects to play.

Good for him. They're expecting big things from Nunn at Oakland, I see.

A site called CBB Central has its predictions up. CBB Central provides good mid-major coverage. They're going with what seems to be a near unanimous consensus of Oakland, NKU, and UIC at the top, and then a growing consensus of Detroit at #4. They also join the near unanimous consensus of CSU and IUPUI at 9 and 10. In the text they describe Detroit as the "dark horse," and "incredibly dangerous." 1. Oakland 2. Northern Kentucky 3. UIC 4. Detroit 5. Youngstown State 6. Wright State 7. Milwaukee 8. Green Bay 9. Cleveland State 10. IUPUI I haven't looked back at past years to analyze, but my first impression is that there is greater convergence in all theses previews than in any season since I started keeping track a few years ago.

Sports Action, a betting site that I hadn't seen make predictions before this year, has it's picks out: They go: 1. Oakland 2. NKU 3. UIC 4. Detroit 5. WSU 6. Youngstown 7. Green Bay 8. Milwaukee 9. IUPUI 10. CSU They've got Hogan second team all-conference, but not Allen. I think that's the first to omit Allen from the second team. Remember, all picks for order of finish and All-Conference teams are summarized in this separate thread udtitanbasketball.freeforums.net/post/7826/thread.

Blue Ribbon:
Oakland NKU UIC Detroit Green Bay Wright State YSU IUPUI Milwaukee Cleveland State
No Titans on the All Conference team or receiving any postseason honors, although they have the 3rd best backcourt in the league. The preview discussed Hogan as if he was not playing due to academic ineligibility.

The preview discussed Hogan as if he was not playing due to academic ineligibility. As a very large print publication, Blue Ribbon has a pretty long lead time before publication, so it doesn't surprise me if they were unsure of Hogan's status. Who is on the All-Conference teams?

Detroit Pomeroy's pre-season (and most computer preseasons) aren't worth much. By definition, they overemphasize the prior year's performance, until a number of games have been played. The Massey computer also has us finishing last.

CBS checks in:
1. (#45 overall) OU ("Quite clearly the best team from a single-bid league") 2. (#119) Northern Kentucky 3. (#144) UIC 4. #158) Wright State 5. (#174) Detroit ("A bad season will lead to a blooming turnaround. Corey Allen was the Freshman of the Year in the Horizon, and Jaleel Hogan will be one of the best scorers in the conference.") 6. (#227) Youngstown 7. (#199) Green Bay 8. (#274 Milwaukee 9. (#299) Cleveland State 10. (#333) IUPUI
